album cover and tracklist

Wow, I'm lovin' that cover art (especially the new Prefuse
logo). It's so Yes.

...and 29 tracks too!

April 14th!

He's been going downhill since Extinguished but I think I'll
be extra pissed-off if the music doesn't live up to that
cover.

It's more Roger Dean than the things Yes used of his.

I know, with a cover like that the music better be damned
good. I might buy this one on LP.

I was thinking of these two Roger Dean covers when I saw
it...

Keys to Ascension

Talesfrom Topographic Oceans

similar floaty landscape kinda feel to it.

Yes, I used to love that stuff when I was youngster.

thanks for the link. to be honest i'm not entirely impressed
with it. i think it's the helium voices on it that are
ruining it for me. it's best to leave that kind of stuff to
Battles.

Nucleus and Bowie are allowed to do the daft
pitch shifting in my book.

killer cover. probably more of the same old boring music
though. ill stay positive but i feel like he is beating a
horse corpse to a pulpy mess.

the cover will probably be the best thing about this album.

sorry guys, but i'm not optimistic.

i'm optimistic. security screenings and preparations had
some of his best tracks in my opinion, stuff like 'no
origin' and 'class of 73 bells'.

If you flip through the bargin bins you'll find tons of
album covers like that. Well in canada anyway where the
crates are mostly non electronic stuff (old prog, folk,
country, hippy music).

Van Der graf generator has some awesome album covers.
Targus, headhunters, even burn had a cool cover.

its a ~48min long mix of a bunch of productions, its great.
most of the songs are less than a minute long.. i guess it
can sound like a sampler at times but its really good all
around. i like it a lot. would love some 10+ minute versions
!

offline Co-existence from Bergen (Norway) on 2009-02-24 17:07 [#02274752]
Points: 3388 Status: Regular

it's a nice mix but it sort of lacks...sexy.. I get the
sampler vibe cygnus mentions. A lot. Sometimes it reminds me
of Virtual Farmer with the continuous nature of the
presentation but even if it flows pretty good I think the
issue is the flow. It is rather entertaining though and I'll
play it again for sure.

Let it be known that this is the first work I ever hear by
Prefuse 73.

expect a special edition with bonus disc with alternative
mixes,
and a download release with longer versions

I'm looking forward to get a special edition of this little
raw diamond.

I've always loved Prefuse73 since the early days... Saw him
live in 2004, it was great. I've bought every single
releases he's done, but they can't really manage to be as
good as the first ones. This one is pretty raw and I like
it, but I do expect a limited edition with some cool
stickers and longer cuts, or other bits.

By the way, the remix he did for the tekkon kinkreet
soundtrack is great, one of the best thing he's done lately.

Ok, here's Parachute Panador and Yuletide. Tracks #3 and
#21 from the forthcoming album, respectively.

I like 'em both. Short and to the point, like the
Extinguished: Outtakes CD.

also just buy the album for the cover only... that's a

Been listening to this. I don't care for the mastering or
production or whatever stage it got slammed with the
compressor limiter. Also some of the timestretching is
metallic and obvious sounding. Aside from that it's nice,
reminds me of Madlib.

Just heard 30 second snippets of each track. It sounds
really good to me. I think i'm gonna take the plunge and
make this my first Prefuse purchase since Extinguished
Outtakes.
