I dunno- not such a good introduction, considering all the other stuff.
Cylob Music System, vols 1 and 2. Lobster Tracks Spider Report Web Tracks is good, too.
Then fast forward a bit in time to Formant Potaton.
Finish with such ambient goodness as Kinesthesia and finally Bounds Green (which really makes a good soundtrack to the underground- set the title track to repeat).
But first stop is prolly Lobster Tracks, like belb said.

Ah mate- why even go there?
Rewind is not a good place to start, continue with or finish.
Not cool- the Cylob obligatory 'Pop song'.
Though all of that is just subjective. If others like I guess that's fine at the end of the day. =)

What? It's not "the obligatory pop song", it's the culmination of Cylobness and pop savvy, it's a rad tune, it's Cylob at his playful peak. That and "Drop the Midrange..." , though that Living in the 80s one lost me.

Nope.
I am not saying this makes me any better, but Kinesthesia was the first Cylob shiz I heard, then everything else other than Midrange and Rewind. A small time passed. Then I found the last two aforementioned tracks. And was not pleased. Just sounds like he is deliberately trying to make a record that will sell as much as possible. Nothing wrong with that- good luck to him. But I don't enjoy the tracks.
This is not to say that i don't enjoy other recent stuff by Cylob- Bounds Green is undoubtedly one of my top ten albums.
Midrange and Rewind just don't have any substance- they're shallow tracks. I am really sorry if this gets anyone's backs up, this was not my intention. It's just my subjective ooutlook, which means nothing to anyone but me.

you should attempt his Synclair Remix, it's beautyful. I bought the LP just for that one track, the other remixes blow balls.

cylob is really good music maker. i don't think it uncommon for people to discover him with trax other than the rewind, drop the bass, or even that drunken sailor and with this ring. its just that i always here those trax on dj sets, and i guess more of the public hears him first with those pretty cheesy but cool trax. the trax sound awesome but i'm not trying to pretend they are more than novelties. his other work is much better.
