You mentioned in a thread a bit a go, that the last time
you saw the melvins, they infact sucked, do explain, in some
details if you have time.

Check out all this wonderful melvins stuff, did you
buy the cds from their webpage, I was to late.

lol coincidence. who mentioned what?

going to see Melvins tonight! same line up as last year.
Melvins are the world's best excuse of getting hyper-drunk.

OK Here goes:

Before the show they played some horrid loud feed backy
irritating music.

They had two drummers and one drum duet is fine but every
song ended with one.

It was boring, most of the time you could not tell what song
they were playing, the sound was good, they were just bad
and the two drummers just made it worse.

I suppose how one could think that, seen a few of their
shows (not live :(___) when they had two drummers and what,
but it seems like at those shows they were going for
experimental and not just playing "night goat" "hooch" and
the rest of the goodies, just experimenting. Kind of like
when they play an album from start to end live, just having
fun, mixing it up a bit.

I have seen them five times, the last time was the worst.
The time before that was with Jello Biafra which was OK.

I absolutly loved seeing them before. They fall into the
cliche of being a 'live' band a don't really care for their
recorded stuff, I never really have. The first time I saw
them I was blown away it was the early 90s in a club in
Manchester.

010101 ||||||||||||
so you like them live, back when, but youve never really
liked thier recorded stuff, am I catching that correct?
If so wierd. Yeah they hve changed thier live shows of the
years, maybe...gotten a bit sloppy, but they have always
been a live band, touring the fuck out of everyone, and
being sloppy and feedback has always been thier thing, even
pre-grunge, pre-Nirvana ear.

*wishes r40F was here, he knows 100x more about the melvins
than I do.

That's right, I have found a few "live" bands over the
years.

The Swans
The Doves

I'm attempting to think of another bird related band that
fits into the same catagory.....

I'm tempted to say Pelican but they are good on record too!

But Nov. 11, Can we predict 14" of snow.

it was kind of very enjoyable like drunk bears having a fun
barfight, but kind of seen this exact same show before.
Melvins played the US hymn and Okie From Muskogee, porn did
some droney stuff for 20 minutes which was boring.
