Hey everyone, ive got a new tune that is very nearly
finished, could do with some feedback and direction with
where to go with it next... how i could improve the flow of
the song, and the mastering maybe.

its very much a melodic piece, kicks in around the 2 minute
mark and gets a bit heavier from there.

sleep easy

i'm happy with it but theres something about the flow of the
song that needs some work i think... maybe some bits
adding/moved around or something. cheers for listening!

i enjoyed your last release and i can see some improvement
in the sound here, sounds a bit warmer and more variations
which is good to hear. with fresh ears, i can say it's a
good track. my only cirtisism is that you do use lofi synths
like very basic analogue ones, which is fine, i guess it's
your style, but i could imagine you using more modern hybred
synths and getting some nice textures for a richer sound.
But if that's your style then it's cool, it works well
anyway, so keep producing.

thanks larn! i'm a big fan of older sounding synths, the
bleepy kind. especially the SID chip from c64s. the filters
and lfo's on my sidstation can do some really crazy stuff- i
love it.

i totally get where you coming from with adding texture with
more modern synths. do you have any good software or
hardware synths that you could recommend? i'm always on the
look out for new ones to mess about with.

also do you have the link to your stuff so i can have a
listen, i must have missed them in the past- i tend to lurk
more than post

nice one

that secondary synth sound at the start is controlled in a
sloppy and unmusical way.

drums are dead. need work, possibly replacement samples.

the track has an uninteresting structure. chord and lead
progressions seem to lack something, perhaps musicality.
same could be said for transition between soundscapes -
somewhat forced. my grandad once said to me "I like a song
that tells a story". Of course, he didn't know what he was
saying, but he was onto something.

there's a lack of space between instruments (arguably of
course).

ultimately, it needs more production, and then it will be
what you want it to be. though if squarepusher himself
produced it, i wouldn't be swayed into thinking it's any
good.
