Just noticed that Play have Classics up for pre-order...is
this a newly re,astered version?

The cover is the negative of SAW1.

lol, unless I am being really thick...that thread only
mentions SAW1. Not the Classics cd that is out in the next
few weeks!

I checked...it's not on discogs yet!

I guess this is a legit remaster, that follows on the back
of SAW1!

remastered = the record company lost the original DAT and
made a new manufacturing master from the old CD release,
maybe it got re-EQ'd by some unrelated engineer

probably, but the SAW 85-92 remaster was actually tastefully
done.

these aphex twin releases are probably the best sellers for
R&S' back cat. so i'm sure they will try and milk them as
much as they can.

rockin good news!

the recent SAW1 remaster was very well done; here's hoping
this one gets the same treatment.

It sounds like it was recorded into an old chewed tape.

classics has some serious CLASSICS on it (digeridoo,
flaphead, isopropanol) and saw1 sounds even finer with a
touch less muddy distortion.
