Who here has heard this album? My friend hooked me up with
a copy and it is the strangest RDJ album I've listened to.
Can I get some thoughts from those of you who also gave this
one a listen.

in fact im pretty sure it isn't
maybe a compilation or something?
what tracks are on it?

probably just a hoax, sorry... either that or a compilation
made by somebody

either that or it IS an aphex twin album that ive never even
heard of.. in which case may i be banned from this board
forever!

two 3" cd of joke remixes by V/VM... not official aphex twin
products... nobody seems to like them terribly...

some people claim that RDJ plays some V/VMin his DJ sets, so
maybe he knows them and/or likes them... i don't know

The HelpAphexTwin Remixes are the sadest excuse for music I
think I've ever heard...

Yeah, it's the annoying V/VM version indeed. RDJ-tracks
remixed without permission.

It's crappy if you ask me. Avoid it. BAH!

It is a V/VM reconstruction/deconstruction of afx and I
think it was pretty cool. Check out their site:
www.brainwashed.com/vvm

And it shows that afx is a genuine pop-culture figure, as
most of their stuff before that was aimed at high-profile
artists (top-ten people etc.) or at traditional family
songs, mor, evergreen etc. So it's kind of a comment on
RDJ's comodity status but also a recognition of his
importance in general publics (sub)consciousness. And on top
of that I think a lot of these tracks confirmed Richards
quality and brought up some new qualities in his music.

The only new qualities of RDJ's music they brought out was
how bad it would have it sucked if Aphex Twin was V/VM
instead of RDJ'...

Oh, uh... Well, I didn't hear it that way, but it's a matter
of taste, I guess... I liked it... All those familiar sounds
being tossed around in new ways, creating some interesting
new relations (among themselves and with the original
stuff). But you're entitled not to like it. A matter of
personal tastes.

It was interesting to hear once, but v/vm could have done a
lot more than change the speed and pitch...

What the fuck is going on here? This is the same comment I
heard a couple of weeks ago on another thread on this same
topic. I mean, I have these two ep's and a lot of shit here
is re-edited and exploded, not just pitched/slowed down.
