sometimes its nice to wack on some less "intelligent" stuff
:)

I'm actually getting tired of it - D&B of today is very
predictable. I was like crazy of it before, but.....
dunno... the "old" d&b stuff are good tho. :)

i accually agree with phobia, when i was new to idm music i
thought D&B was wicked and really fast but now that i have
heared alot of squarepusher & aphextwin, it all seems like
small potatos

theres some tasty drum and bass out there.
my first passion was Rock the Funky Beat by Natural Born
Chillers, i hunted that 12" forever.
the Nuyorican soul stuff mixed by Roni Size is pretty tight
too.
got a monster mix of No Diggety by BlackStreet, Teddy Riley
mix, great stuff.

ya same here
at first i thought dnb was sooooo fast and complex and
cool.. and now i realize squarepusher and afx's music is
much better in that way
now i can hardly listen to it anymore.. it gets to boring
so repetative in comparison w/ squarepusher/afx
but anyways, i still DO listen to it occasionally:
source direct
photek
ltj bukem
digital
dillinja
j-majik
optical
total science
..are my favourites

I think too much techstep or whatever you call it has come
onto the scene. Now everytime someone here's "drum and
bass" they'll think of some trash like Dieselboy or
something. I hate techstep DnB. Might as well listen to
thrash rock or headbang or something.

I prefer the skitterish DnB of yesteryears when it was
unpredictable. I'm into the Photek "awkward / disjointed
DnB too".

Does anyone know all the names for DnB like Amen breaks and
stuff? What do all those mean? Just curious here.

I think D&B is pretty limited just the nature of what it
is......there isn't exactly a ton of room to spread and and
try new things in D&B

Zen Storm, i think that would be my motivation if i was
makin d&b though, when people say the limits have been
reached, i'd wanna break those limits.

old skool DnB is awesome, i have a cd with a couple of the
best DnB tracks from each year of the '90s, love it!

i've never liked dnb with jazzy elements in it. i like dnb
when it's hard, techy and has a fat bass.
I was listening to BBC radio1 the other day, (because i
thought they were gonna play the rephlex show, but they
didn't) anyway i sat there with my minidisc ready when john
peel started playing probably the best dnb track i've ever
heard in my life!! Arkane - Implant. it was so fat and
futuristic i nearly fell of my chair.
i was really surprised, i didn't think there was any good
dnb around these days...i'm telling you, check it out!!
