I can't get into mu-ziq....

Dunno why, but all the "IDM" stuff Mike
Paradiniaindiididnaiianaidnidnias has ever done always
sounds amateur to me. Only his breakcore stuff under Rude
Ass Tinker sounds professional to me out of the work by him
I've heard. Anyone else find this?

Because most of it is fucking rubbish.

I really like a few of his tracks myself, but in general
he's fucking rubbish, like that gormless fucking Snares.

yep pretty much that is true. back in the day the shop guys
kept trying to sell Tango to me saying it was just like AFX
and when i finally heard it, i was like wtf are you talking
about!?

His melodies are weird/unconventional but started to sound
quite good to me only after multiple listens. Its also great
car music because there's not much subtle detail to lose in
engine/traffic noise. Lunatic harness is funny (or whatever
track that was beatboxish)

You might prefer his Kid Spatula stuff - Meast is very good.

Heard a track off that and couldn't stand it, that sounded
even worse than mu-ziq to me...

Tango n Vectif is really good IMO.
Not really a fan of mike p. Just like all the other stuff on
planet-poo his releases are getting worse.
The phragmal synthesis tracks on TnV are great, I love the
progression from 1 to 3. Just get tango n vectif and ignore
the rest.

i dont know µziq very well but i really like the first
track of lunatic harness : ok he's kind of ripping
squarepusher's style in that song but, still, its a great
track. not far from the mighty hello everything.

Just like an ant colony or beehive, the Hall is serviced
“by an army of non-individuated workers” , and as in the
ant colony, “the female is the object of desire over all
he males.”

I am with Lee on this one. Most of his stuff is pants. Best
album IMO is royal astronomy simply because it has goodbye,
goodby on it. I absolutely adore that track.

lunatic harness is fucking brilliant
and tango n vectif is one of the 5 or 6 best electronica
albums of all time

anyone who disagrees with the above statements is a bollock

yea he's got some good stuff. You have to wade through his
tracks to find the gems though which is hard at times. I
like some of his recent work although that last album was
total crap (the one with the really long stupid name...i
can't tell tracks apart which isn't a good thing).

Then main reason i never got into his earlier work is the
fact that it has this crap General MIDI sound it reminds me
of well midi music you'd find on some fan page 10 years ago
before broadband & everything...tango n vectif i'm still
having a hard time listening to. again its a matter of
personal taste...the mans a pimp though isn't he dating a 19
year old chick or something?

Is that him with his girlfriend? To be honest, it's only
creepy when you consider the age difference between them.
Looking at that pic, he looks like hes maybe 26.

she's good looking, can't blame him!

anyway, µ-ziq was one of my first points of interest in
this kind of music. he's more on/off than the rest of the
'big ones', but he can still make some really good tracks.
his newest album ... i don't get at all. but wergle the
proud was really nice.
