 | i hope its released as a greatest hits analord cd, because about 20% of it so far is shite. and don't get me wrong i'm
in love with most of it, can't get enough of it. i just hope
its narrowed down to a double disc collection.

 | what makes you guys think there will be a cd release?
 proof?

I thought there would be a cd release when I thought
analords would be like 2 tracks per number, so we would have
like 20 tracks as much for a cd of the main themes, lets say
about 13 tracks for the cd with some edited tracks

but so far we have 23 tracks and there are still 4 analords
 left
so I doubt there will be a cd release with all or most of
them, because that would mean another double or triple cd
release... do you think thats going to happen?

 | If they don't release a CD of it then I'll do my own mockup case for it with all the tracks on it. I'm guessing there's
only 11 in the series if there's 12 sleeves in the binder
and there's an Analord 11 and this supposed normal version
of 10 with extra tracks. Any more on that actually?

 | i would hope that rephlex realizes that this isnt a normal artist that is releasing music and that this artist who just
happens to be the most popular out of the bunch, used to be
on warp records and that in itself should denote a cd
release, in fact replex should just sell the rights to
another company and have them to the cd release of this
 stuff - why wouldnt they?

name me one good reason why rephlex wouldnt release this
series on cd at some point?

 | whywouldnt they release it on CD? thats like the money shot ;)

they would make mad money from the CD, its cheaper to press
cds. I mean Mike P posted a topic on planet-mu that they
dont almost make any money from the vinyl releases so thats
why a lot of their releases aint on vinyl, and its cost more
 to press vinyl.

Lets make a poll to see how many thinks that it will be on
 CD..

 | Nah, it should never be released on CD. If you don't have a turntable, get one. If your seriously
into your electronic music you should have one, ther are
many thousands of things not on CD, many of which In all
likeliness never be released on any other format.
These Analord records in particular should be preserved a
vinyl only entites, because of their (mostly..) Analogue
nature, because they will never sound as good on CD, because
if even if the lack of CD conversion convinces only one
digital person to procure his or herself a record player
then it will be worth it.. because vinyl is the best way to
listen to music. I could get techinical at this point, but
I'll restrain for now. I'll dig up something later maybe.
Ripping it from vinyl to CD 'lossless' (hmm.. well.. ) can
always be done, but it is still not the same as listening to
the record. Nothing is. A CD cut from the (tape?) masters
 will not sound the same.
Vinyl is best. (black) It's a beautiful organic substance!
CDs are convenient data carrying devices, essentially crap
 for music.
 SAVE THE VINYL.

 | and you don't see how elitist the vinyl purist's argument is?

in the year 2005, we have to buy expensive thirty-year-old
technology to play delicate, expensive records? vinyl may
sound better IF you can afford a real turntable, an
amplifier, and equaliser, good speakers. if you were to buy
really expensive equipment like that, yes you can coax a
lovely sound from these discs. on the other hand, when a cd
is properly mastered, it sounds exactly like it should on
 your shitty proletarian cd player.

for those of us who can't afford the "better" sound of
vinyl-hiss (or as you'd call it, "warmth"), cds are
 wonderful.

 | "on the other hand, when a cd is properly mastered, it sounds exactly like it should on

 eh? that isn't making sense.
If you mean that Cds sound as vinyl the same when well
mastered you're totally wrong. Different kettle of fish
altogether. I'll start a new thread with some reasons why.
Also, it's not elitist. that argument fails at every
 hurdle.
£ for £ (or $ for $) record players rule overr cd players.
good Cd players are not cheap either.

 See new thread.

 | I really wish there was a CD, because my turntables are shit and teh Analords sound worse on them than on the mp3s ripped
 and burnt to CD-R.

A compilation CD makes good business sense. Rephlex know
that any Aphex Twin related CDs would be a huge earner for
them, more casual fans would prefer a single CD to
collecting all the vinyl, while the hardcore completists
 will buy it regardless.

So maybe theyre just holding out to build up anticipation
and waiting until all the vinyls are out to ensure selling
as much of them as possible. Or perhaps Richard himself has
insisted that due to the analogue concept of the EPs, they
should not be issued on CD.
