I would also like to express my agreement that return of the
king would be great.

The trailer is quite depressing, I might cry.

i'm not going to watch any of the trailers. i want to see
everything for the first time when i go see the movie.

I hope the orcs catapult the rotting heads of the fallen
soldiers from the battle field over the city walls like in
the book, during the seige.

Is anyone going to be going to the marathon screenings in
december of all three movies back to back? I know they're
doing that in theaters around here but I dont think i'd want
to sit in a theater for that long. If i want to watch all
three i'll just wait for all the dvds.

Pxoxoxpxy is. He's gonna be screwed for the final we have
the next day. Fanatic turd. I'm so jealous though. Tickets
are going for so much now.

that would be an entire day of movies.

I think I'd get cabin fever and pass out.

I don't think I'd enjoy the return of the king as much if I
went to that marathon... it's gonna rule though, I can't
wait to see this movie... I've never been as excited about
any other movie as I am about this one... The Two Towers was
close, but this is the finale... this is gonna r0x0rs my
s0x0rs!!

When I was young I watched all three Star Wars films back to
back in the cinema. It was FUCKing great.

I wouldn't do it now, I get so uncomfortable in the cinema
(and there's always noisy bastards trying to ruin the film).
But this film will probably rock. Shelob looks alright but
after Eight Legged Freaks the novelty is kinda gone.

there's quite some action in the LoTR series.

and a bit of humour, which they almost all the time plug in
the dwarf Gimli - which doesn't really work and can even get
annoying at points.

I avoided Lord of the Rings for quite some time. I never
really had much of an affinity for the books; just wasnt
something that interested me. But I eventually decided to
give Fellowship of the Ring ago and was blown away by the
acting, production design, and fine direction.

Give it a chance.

i think i'll read all three books straight through. marathon
run.
then maybe read the silmarillion as well, out loud, the way
it was meant to be read.

i tried reading the silmarillion, but i didn't get past
about the first 50 pages. it reads extremely similar to the
bible, explaining the creation and all the beings and
history and everything. there's tons of information and
interesting facts that give some perspective to lotr and the
hobbit stories, such as what makes Aragorn's bloodline
special, the hierarchy of the celestial beings, and how
relatively wimpy sauron is. i think i'm going to reread the
books and then try to read the silmarillion again.

It'll most likely be great, but probably not as great as it
would be if it included the "Frodo of the Nine Fingers" song
from the animated version, which it most likely won't - I
can always hope, though.

"Frodo of the nine fingers, and the ring of DOOOOOOM!"

Dozier: Sauron? A Wimp? But of course this a term of
endearment, no?

-V-: You checked Lord Of The Rhymes track of the same title?

To All: Pippin will sing to Denethor in Return of the King
The Movie.

there is no way that this movie can possibly suck... I'm
gonna wait till I see the movie before I read the book... I
read the fellowship of the ring, and the two towers last
winter, so I'm all primed for this... I think I'd rather go
into the movie without much knowledge about it... and then
read the book after to see the similarities and such...
