i heard biosphere can do pretty great shows, though im not
sure what's it like when he plays within festival..but he
would definitelly be the 1st one to see out of that list.
ryoji ikeda would be nr. 2 and kode 9 nr. 3.

the strange (or cool) thing is, the event with ryoji is
promoted as an audiovisual exhibition.

biosphere or Ryoji Ikeda would be nice; only because i have
no idea what i would be in store for.

matt dear is live in ann arbor this weekend, but my friend
is throwing a huge bash that night as well so i don't think
i'll be able to attend.

I've seen biosphere live several times. It's always a good
show even though Biosphere does nothing but staring into his
laptop with a certain expression of gloom throughout the
entire set. He's like the 5th Kraftwerk member - the
Scandinavian one with the polar thing going for himself...
Yes, I would definitely go see him!

well biosphere nearly put me to sleep. but ryoji ikeda was
awesome. tomorrow i'll go see kode 9 and if i still have
money and im not tired i'll see the
jackson/sebastian/Matthew Dear's Big Hands show afterwards.

I was at an Ulrich Schnauss show last Friday night (being
the only one off that list i've seen) and he plays his big
midi keyboard like a piano. He has a jolly inspiring beer
gut. i shook his hand and had a school girl crush.

met the good and the bad of the fans. there was this one
drunken obnoxious meathead fag up in the front dancing like
a spaz, talking the whole time, bothering the people around
him and generally trying to start shit. then after Ulrich
encored w/ On My Own and one other track, on my way out some
fan stopped me to tell me how great my Warp t-shirt was. fun
show.

i see many people say biosphere. i've seen him once and it
wasn't that great. he mostly played tracks straight off the
cd and he just sat there. a strobe flash every 1 minut or so
and some visual art on a big canvas. at the end he bowed and
left. crowd gave thansk.

i guess if you want theatrics, electronic music isn't really
where it's at.

no, unfortunately not. it is mostly a guy sitting with a
laptop with some flashing lights behind. after a few
concerts you should be able to look through this. there is
however a few bands who have extraordinary performances.

Orbital
Underworld
Jamie Lidell (this guy throws his soul into it)
808 State
the stage people that get down FOR Aphex

So yesterday was good.

first it was an ambient show. it was really good... much
much better than that biosphere.

then it was some audiovisual thingie. first some azns that
were ok.

but artificiel and their rubik cube thing was really
awesome.

then skotz kolgen did their thing and uh.. i just didin't
get it.

then came kode 9 & the space ape. god i wish more people did
that kind of music here. it was great, i even danced a
little haha.

Jackson for sure. Actually, to be completely honest, Jackson
is one of the only musicians that I even recognise on that
list. I haven't heard any of the others, with the exception
of Circlesquare.

also this festival made me reaffirm the tought that so
called IDM is no longer expermental. and that all our
favorite artists have settled in a confortable place.
