Beautiful Burnout (which used to be called Biro the Leggy)
is pretty dark and awesome. it was really dark live, in a
good way.

heard Family guy had already used a track in their Star Wars
special for the Deal or No Deal gag. how that happened i
don't know.

oh really about the Family Guy, ill ahve to watch it again.

The review in spin said it wasnt as dancey as thier past
stuff but more melodic and atmospherical.

i like the album, but Ring Road is awful... i really really
don't like that song... rest is well cool... Beautiful
Burnout definatly a highlight... glam bucket reminds me of
that track from the movie heat... i think its mobys "god
moving his hand over the face of waters" or something along
those lines... faxed invitation is really good too... best
mamgu ever is nice too... overall, as a massive fan of
boucoup fish and 100 days off... im a little dissapointed,
but still enjoying it...

it has a bit more of a cafe del mar feel... in a good way

''everything thus far is superior to the single
"crocodile".''

Sounds like good news, I love that song. :)

"i like the album, but Ring Road is awful... i really really
don't like that song..."

think that's the one they used in Family Guy. Don't know,
maybe they both sampled the same source.

"it wasnt as dancey as thier past
stuff but more melodic and atmospherical" it's true. in
future, the germalists gonna speak similar about rdj stuff

warm ambient tracks like Glam Bucket or Best Mamgu
Ever
are really good. the tracks that try to sound like
classic Underworld sound like they lack something though —
Two Months Off was no Pearls Girl or
Juanita, and Crocodile isn't either... then
there's Ring Road, which i skip (it just doesn't work
for me) and Beautiful Burnout, which is surprisingly
good (the best track on the album, by far).

about the vocals... they're quite subdued, don't expect
anything like Moaner — and i didn't pay much
attention to the lyrics, but track titles like "Cuddle Bunny
vs The Celtic Villages", "Good Morning Cockerel" or "Best
Mamgu Ever" just sound awkward. now maybe it's not that
important, since the album is more ambient-oriented... but
still.

overall i'd give it a 7/10. it's no
dubnobasswithmyheadman, Second toughest in the
infants
or Beaucoup fish, but it has its moments.

It's up on their Myspace at the moment.

Anyone think the cover says SEX across the middle? It's
either SEX or 551. It would be explained by Underworld's
weird advertising. Or is it just my perverted thinking? :P

To Heal is a lush track. Ring Road's shit.

Ring Road is embarrassing...
i just got the riverrun series... i think it's the best
underworld stuff i've heard...

All in all a decent Underworld effort...

I totally agree with the notion that Ring Road may be the
worst track they have ever done.

Cheers!

i like "Boy, Boy, Boy" but i think i'm one of the few that
generally is less pleased with this record than those in the
past. i thought A Hundred Days Off was a far better record,
but this new one has its moments like "To Heal".

It's about as good as you can expect from a band whose core
generic audience is middle-aged and not interested in the
slightest.

Nothing can ever beat Beacoup Fish. Not sure about A Hundred
Days though, that just didn't click with me.

100days beats Fish cause more spacey - but that's just me.
both have their highlights.

"crocodile" stands out really as I'm listening to "live at
the oblivion bell". they're not gonna beat "everything
everything
" that's for sure. unless Karl starts drinking again ;P
sorry bad joke

not heard this but "everything, everything" might be the
tightest live album i've ever heard, he says showing his
paucity of vision. that version of pearls girl is something
else, and i'm not really even a fan

I bought it when it was new, but only gave it one
half-listen and thought it was a bit boring. I was after
some loud thumpy shit like Beaucoup Fish though, so with
less preconception in my ears I might enjoy it more. I will
"give it a spin" (or the CD equivalent) again today
