Sup acid heads! I just unsheathed a shinny silver 15''
mackbook pro!

The first abulm: Aphex Twin's ON

...I said to myself..."apothocary thyne name is APHEX
TWIN!!!"

Starting out:

DHCP lease renew help

The admin pass that I use to install apps with doesn't work
when i try ipconfig [args] in darwin...su to *admin* and
type it...all i get back is "sorry" :(

I know that there's many mac Gurus on this MB; lets use this
thread to trade tips and help others with our wisdom and
love for the Lamborgini like Hatori Hanzo's!

Any links to mac dojo's (quality mb's) please post them
here!

nanotech, i'm not entirely sure since i haven't really
played around with Mac OS X 10.4 but i'm pretty sure they
changed things regarding superuser access.

it is my understanding that they are completely removing the
NetInfo Manager from the system in 10.5, which is heresy

if you start the NetInfo Manager and look through the menu
there is an entry there for enableing the root account.

i would advise caution - make sure you choose a very secure
password, since the root account has access to everything
(as you should know if you've already been delving into UNIX
or Linux) and if someone form the outside gains access to
that account, well you can use your MacBook Pro as a nice
paper weight i guess ;)

i would also recommend buying this book if you're
interested in fiddling around with the system. it's
extremely in-depth
