Pro:
- Rich and detailed knowledge about highly advanced and
complicated hardware and software
- Meticulously constructed, intricate song structures
- Mostly reclusive personalities
- Sci-fi and movie references in the music and song titles
- Nonsensical track titles - or - an unability to name
tracks (untitled track 6)

Con:
- Some of them have girlfriends

girlfriends?

i dont know about autism but i believe most people who
listen to electronic music suffer to a certain degree a form
of ADHD. seeing as the one doing the listening is usually
looking for a form of entertainment that causes distraction
in a 'theoretical consecutive' intermittent manner.
regardless whether the listener is consciously aware of this
or not.

I've been listening less and less to IDM / glitch and more
and more to indie / pop / rock. Does that mean my ADHD is
diminishing?

the form of which i'm talking about fluxtuates in intensity,
it all depends on what you're listening. so i'd say yes, if
you're listening to less abstract music it shows your
appetite of being distracted has diminished for the time
being.

your definition of "autistic" seems very liberal

My favorite:
- Sci-fi and movie references in the music and song
titles.

I do picture rdj as somewhat autistic, but that's probably
because I see myself as somewhat autistic and I admire the
guy so of course he's gotta be like me.

apparently squarepusher is, according to his wikipedia page
about a year ago.

who cares anyway. autism is more of a personality trait than
a disorder.

Your definitioon of 'sci fi' is 'retro' anyway. Making 60's
proto future noises now is daft in your scheme of things.
Why don't you make music that can be only made now? You can
download all the classiccs, start from there.

have you met autistic people?
have you seen videos of people who make 'idm' (brrrrr...)
where they talk about them and there music?

did you really think:"woaw! they're are autistic!!"

i mean, what is that for a question...

obviously they are not autistic,
but in a gradiation scale,
they are closer than other genres artist,
as people making (and listening) this kind of music
tend to be very introspective and asocial...

you wouldn't consider music by autechre or aphex as psuedo
attention deficit music? just to name a few prime examples
of artists whose songs need to be listened to more carefully
(which contradict the ADHD part) but at the same time it is
arranged in a manner to distract someone every so often.
wouldn't that be considered some sort of disorder? it isn't
background music, its not a simple song you can listen to in
the car without it causing you to be distracted from the
actual environment around you. the fact that you have to
listen to it carefully may contradict my diagnosis but not
entirely. what would you call someone who is infatuated with
music that in a brief amount of time causes many distracting
sounds.
