This is an awesome game. Suggesting it almost makes up for
your atrocity of creating this life wasting site.

I used pellet towers only and placed them in diagonal walls
to make them take long zig zag paths. The highest upgrade
for this gun takes off 400 and much higher range, so
upgraded many to max.

I pretty much use the same strategy, except for some
strategically positioned Squirt towers...

Yeah, submit your scores to the group "xltronic" along with

Here is the current Xltronic highscore!

"The 100" in the challenge area is much more fun (100
levels). I got to 78 I think, then was about to die anyway
so hit 'send next level' all the way to 100 and the screen
got flooded.

Cool, I didn't try any 'juggling' yet (selling a unit to
make the enemies backtrack).

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2007-04-10 22:29 [#02071110]

I got to level 79 in the 100 level challenge this time. I
don't think anyone in the records has beat all 100 in the
records yet. Someone got to 93 I think which seems
impossible even with juggling.

offline evolume from seattle (United States) on 2007-04-10 22:44 [#02071111]

i've just started playing with juggling. it practically
breaks the game, if it weren't for the flying critters.

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2007-04-11 17:15 [#02071303]
Points: 21452 Status: Lurker

Yeah, I tried juggling and there just isn't enough money to
have air defense. I had I think 6 to 8 fully upgraded air
missle units and at level 80 (100 level challenge) half the
normal triangles still go by, let alone the big ones.
According to the records a few have beat all 100... youtube
only shows a couple going up to 79 or 80. The guy that built
a more city-like structure looks like a good strategy.

i was browsing the forums there and i saw someone mention
that they had map overlays or something...? i wonder if
there is a way to construct a map to specifications. of
course at that point you are no longer playing the game.
the game is playing you.

In the 'fun' menu there is a map with unchangable walls in
the middle (cross and checkered) if that's what you mean. I
don't think there's a way to choose a pre made map beyond
that. I'd like to see a video of that lambda guy from that
forum- he keeps everything in a small space and uses splash
damage to kill everything all at once (and I guess has to
juggle REALLY fast). That would be stressful.

i tried "the 100" and got to 80, but when i pass 50 my
processor seem to almost crash. it runs at nearly 100% and
the game slows down very very much. but if i minimize
firefox it all runs normal..
Hmm. i think i'll go back to hard and try to run it without
any lives lost instead. or even better, fuck it and do
something useful.

I think to get further than 80, you have to only build 1 or
two fully upgraded dart towers, and juggle all the ground
units back and forth using the splash damage of only those 1
or 2 units. All the rest of the gold needs to concentrate on
the air units- and those seem to have to be positioned
exactly in the center. And you have to upgrade one unit to
full before starting on the next one it seems to be
effective (I had 8 air towers all upgraded to 2 or 3 in the
center, and quite a few of the normal triangles on level 42
got by them..)

by the way you get more points by clicking 'send next
level'. I guess the points only count if you beat the game
though or something.

offline ijonspeches from 109P/Swift-Tuttle on 2007-04-12 18:25 [#02071655]
Points: 7846 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

i made it to level 79 with 2 full airtowers and 1 half
airtower
4 should be enough, i think and you have plenty of time
upgrading them but the massive landunits are just too much
and you cant juggle them properly at level 79 cause they are
just too many.
3 full dart towers and like 5 full squirt towers and 2 full
freeze towers and a couple of snipers arent enough, but
there will be a way somehow

it doesn't seem to be possible to get past level 80. there
just isn't enough money to cover air and ground adequately,
if you can stop one, you can't stop the other...

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2007-04-13 16:17 [#02071818]

Mrs. qrter just beat me and phobiazero at 6077 & 17 lives on
hard.

According to the forums someone got to level 93- the others
cheated maybe. So NOBODY except the game maker has seen the
end end boss(es?)? Maybe... maybe it's a GIANT SQUARE... or
A HEXAGON!!

offline chaosmachine from Ottawa (Canada) on 2007-04-13 18:05 [#02071822]
Points: 2330 Status: Lurker

mathematically, i don't think it can be done, unless there's
some incredibly efficient tower layout i haven't
discovered.. everything i've tried fails on level 80. even
with juggling, the guys make 4 rounds through my maze and
still aren't dead, and by that point there's 3 groups of
enemies in the maze, and then the fliers come in.. can't
stop it.
