That's exactly how it seems to me, but people in the
olympics look like they're in the special olympics compared
to some hard core people that play games like this. They
harness all their concentration into a solid beam of
neurotic insanity.

Why does phobiazero's original link open this in a large
window all by itself? How do you do that?

it's just a link to the actual flash file, rather than a
page with the flash embedded in it.

grr, the administrator and, i assume, the game's creator
says in the forums that the spawn boss is bugged and it is
impossible as the game is now to beat all 100
levels.LAZY_TITLE

i would add though that he seems like kind of a smart ass so
maybe he's bull shitting.

If all the sub-spawns gave gold it might even out and be
possible.

chaosmachine- I know you code; a game like this is made in
'flash' right? Maybe I should be using flash instead of
python, as it is apparently easy to put flash games on the
web for everyone to see/play but difficult to put python
games on the web I think. I wonder if its generally easier
to code in than python (actionscript I guess).

i've only done very basic stuff with flash, but this game
makes me want to put some more time into it.

it's definitely the best "web game" platform out there. easy
animated graphics, real-time interactivity, etc..

Ha, Tau'ri Bedrock (2nd page on that games link I put above)
is pretty delightful/ simple and original/fun. I only beat
the first level. I tend to like simple elements or at least
ones that work very well together without a whole lot of
peripheral bs.

level 78 without juggling. the "mutant 4" strategy works
very well (there's a clip on youtube), but at level 77 it's
end of story... there's just too friggin much of the
critters.

You should check out Gumboy Crazy Adventures. Almost the
same concept, but much better.

I'm glad you recommended that again (if you're the same
person who recommended it last time) because I want to check
it out. I might as well write 'desktop tower defense' so I
can find this thread in the search engine.

One site says: 'ActionScript was developed for vector
drawing and therefore ignores the possibility of directly
manipulating pixels.' Hmm. I think I'll get flash 8 and try
it out as soon as I get a computer/desk/chair which is
taking forever; not sure if I should get basic or pro.

This site has a ton of quality flash games;
sonic/zelda/street fighter.. and they seem to load quite
quick.

Dunno if it has been mentioned already, but there's a
cracked version of DesktopTD somewhere on the net. There's
only one cheat in it which is that you start with 9999 gold.
It makes level 80 look like a walk in the park. Without
juggling it's fairly simple to get to level 86. After that
juggling is a necessity. Every creep is like a boss on it's
own, but the pay-off for each killed one is minimal. I've
never seen such a crap game in my entire life!!

How dare you challenge qrtette's desktop tower
defense superiority! You will rue the day you were born! You
will rue it!

Damn, you made the all time score boards... and many
of the ones above you cheated probably...

It looks like you have juggling down to a science.. I can't
really tell which ones you sell and build really.. if its
that one pe above the two sq's, it looks like that would
block off all the ones just coming in which would kind of
force everyone together into a pile again (the ones coming
in and the ones juggling to backtrack).

I don't get this level with a pacman balloon. It just gets
stuck on the wall.

Flash games seem to have this hollowness about them, maybe
because they're based on vector graphics. I bet something
really good can be done with it though.

It's the stupidest 'game' ever anyway. I tried to find that
earlier in google. I arrived at some pornish site with a
supposed flash window that says 'loading' but isn't actually
loading and a prompt to click on the window. I didn't click
it...

I just beat it. I think 'bosses' are really important in
games. I would maybe make a game where its just one boss
after another. Or maybe its just something you're overcoming
with obvious visual cues as to your progress (ex. breakout
you can see how many bricks are left)

computer. I'm gonna rule the universe.

oyvinto- I'm pretty sure I'm gonna smash your score. I just
did a complete test run of a new map I made without trying
hard and got 2nd place already.

Damn it, did you cheat or something? That score is S PekTACH
URLER

I thought I set up the ultimate juggling system and it works
pretty damn good and was pressing send next level like crazy
and you're still more than 500 ahead.
