So. It's at the WarpMart, and several people over at "the
messageboard we can not mention" have received it. Doesn't
seem to have leaked on Oink or Slsk. Have anyone here heard
it?

if you like any of his stuff you will like this
as good as you could hope for, non?
maybe consider buying a copy so he can be funded

Already bought several of his releases, and if I like this I
will probably buy it too. Unfortunately I haven't found any
soundclips, and since there are some of his stuff I don't
appreciate, I would like to have a listen before I buy it.

Alexi Perala, the guy from Finland responsible for
Astrobotnia, Ovuca, half of Cylobotnia and all kinds of
goodness over the past six of seven years on the excellent
Rephlex label.

He's taken some time out, and he's back with some new
tracks, which simply, and in the best way progress from his
previous work refining his sound and developing the unique
atmosphere that his tracks carry. This is a great album full
of quirky little surprises, subtle innovation and delicate
development from one of underground electronica's unsung
heroes.

I think it's because of the general state of the MB.

I've listened to it a lot the last days, and I like it too.
I don't think it will be in my top 10 this year, but I
appreciate it like I appreciate Wasted Sunday, and the
Astrobotnia series. Nice spring/summer album.

just a question, as i'm a big fan of astrob/ovuca i consider
getting the cd/vinyl, but as my rec player do not play 45rpm
are you sure the 2 x LP are 33rpm??

he shoots he scores!
been listening to alot of astrobotnia recently, and then
this comes out. there are some awesome tunes here.
hoowever, i wonder how i will like it after some time.
hopefully still as enjoyable

im still enjoying it after the above 100th listen, it is
really a fantastic release of fresh, new music.

i do feel a rephlex rewind is coming - there has been some
periods (like the last 2 years) where they didnt really put
out anything truely 'great', but i think this is the turning
point.

offline pigster from melbs on 2007-05-01 07:33 [#02077964]
Points: 4480 Status: Lurker

yeah, rephlex are doing well atm : )
is it that theyre putting that much more effort into the
company, or just the timing of good music.

i was really looking forward to this release. Sorry for the
300 posts about it, it didn't live up to the wait. i enjoy
1 or 2 tracks but thats about it.

c- (and thats from a huge ovuca/astrobotnia/aleksi fan)

maybe... but i'm sure i'll love it anyway, so any infos if
its a 33rpm ?(instead of 45rpm, i know its a album not a 7"
but just in case)

now this is more like it. rephlex back to releasing perfect
braindance. it took me a while to get into it but this is
seriously good.

and yes its 33 :)

im tempted to say its the best thing he's done so far.

awesome.

ive never been into aleksi perala before, but I bought this
because i needed to justify the shipping cost for urban
tribe and dopplereffekt, but it turned out to be really
good, there is only one track on here that i dont really
like, it does really fit either, thats track 6, it sounds
like a bad clark

so try the remix! + the heavy metal remix he played on the
dj show with cylob. anyway project V is the living proof he
is the best musician coming from finland since sibelius.
really really strong LP if you ask me, i'm curious what
results would come of aleksi remixing his old trax (you know
the lo-fi ones) with his new style & complex production, a
dull idea maybe but i dont know...

stuff.... long may it continue.

I wouldnt go so far as to call this release Brilliant.

Its A Higher grade DJ Shadow. Good for Background music
while driving or whatever else you need background music
for.

Its not at all bad.

Background music
while driving

definition of wicked music then

side D totally works for Djing too

Yea, that was last spring, the acoustics were really bad (no
surprise there), but it was a free gig so no complaints...

This album is really great, by the way! I don't even care if
some of the tracks sound like Clark or Squarepusher, it's
just really well put together.

well done if you saw astrobotnia @ the library : the last
free gig i saw @ a library was nina hagen a long time ago,
in a far away place.. (& terrible it was)

anyway catch the dj/live show by cylobotnia
(cylob+astrobotnia) on xltronic.
