has anyone been watching the mini series? its a bbc nature
documentary that catches never before seen footage of
wildlife all across the globe. the big deal about this for
those who dont know, is with new camera technology it's
enabled them to film from great distances. they've managed
to film never before seen footage entirely in HD. i wonder
how this was received in the u.k. i found some of the
footage fascinating especially the panaroma shots taken. i'm
definitely getting this on DVD... whenever i have enough
money.

yes, it's fantastic. but i have to admit i haven't got much
to add besides.
well, don't watch it on a regular tv. you'd miss out on all
the glorious details. that's about it.

did you see the Jungle episode?! they had a black and blue
bird where he dances and makes an illustrious image with his
feathers?! that was fantastic! i forgot the name of that
bird but that made my jaw dropped when i saw its mating
call.

*checks hd* yep, seen it.

what really amazes me is that when i read the title of the
episode, and i think "hmmm...'the great planes' that doesn't
sound interesting at all", it nevertheless is. these series
should have a wall of fame of its own.

The Planet Earth series is incredible. I don't have an HD
TV; in fact it's an old 50 inch projection TV with a fairly
bad picture, and even still the amazing camera work is more
than adequate to make up for it. I can't imagine how great
it must look in HD. If you buy one nature documentary series
on DVD for your entire life, make it this one.

seasonal forests is one of the best david attenborough
episodes ever, next to the first one from private life of
plants, which is absolutely glorious.

It's been out on DVD over here in the UK since December. I
picked it up for £25 in London just before Christmas. A
great series.

I've really been getting into David Attenborough's Life in
the Undergrowth. Looking forward to watching this series
eventually too.

my TV is a Trinitron though. nice picture for a CRT but ya,
gotta upgrade soon.

id rather have it be filmed on 35mm and buy a print myself,
nothing beats that, no ones and zeros
