Just listened to Plaids sountrack to some anime called
Tekkon Kinkreet, never seen it before (anygood?) and I have
to say it is much better then their last 2 albums greedy
baby and spokes.

never been a huge fan of them, but this is a big improvement
over that greedy baby rubbish ;)

:D , cheers - perhaps i shoulda searched for that first ;)

did you actually like greedy baby??? ..... I thought it was
pretty bad apart from a couple of moments, and the video's
were boring too (the cartoon wrestler was entertaining
though), at least with spokes there was a couple of good
songs on it...

I still regret having bought Spokes. It's totally redundant
compared to their other work. Just more of what they'd
already done before (better). Perhaps I should listen to it
again, though. I remember only listening to it once....yes
it was THAT bad

I thought spokes was really good. I appear to be in the
minority with that opinion however.

I think The Launching Of Big Face, and Super Positions are
pretty good, but the rest is below average, imo. Haven't
seen the DVD yet. Tekkon Kinkreet is ok stuff.

Listening to it again I agree it's not that bad. It's just
like reading another version of a book you already know,
when you were expecting a new story. Some minor changes here
and there, but essentially it's still the same as before.

Yeah, i have to admit i am no afficionado on Plaid or
anything. I do really have alot of time for all of the stuff
i have heard. Spokes was the first one i really took the
time to listen to properly, so, i suppose that is why i
really like it.

I can see your point. It isn't much of a stylistic leap
forward from double figure.

I really love Spokes myself; it's one of my favorite albums
of recent times, and I've also noticed that people who are
usually into other kinds of music (mainly classical) are
very keen on it, too.

I quite liked Greedy Baby, too. In fact, most of Plaid's
stuff is pretty decent.

I had the exact same thing when I first heard Spokes. I'm
glad I always allow myself a 2nd and 3th run without making
my mind up. I'm glad I did as it is now one of my favorite
Plaid releases ever.

I only liked even spring, marry and buns from spokes - 3
tracks out 10 aint that bad i suppose :D........their other
albums were much better though, and i will keep listening to
them as they do have something- and are capable of doing
something special.

i do regret buying greedy baby- found it a waste of time
and money.

seed comp
and renaissance

Checked out the Plaid tracks on these releases? Beats the
tracks on Greedy Baby, imo.

cheers, definately gonna check these out ;)

still never actually watched renaissance, got it - just
thought it might be boring and was saving it for a rainy
day.

I really wish someone would make torrent of this on mininova
or piratebay. So that I can get a copy of it and so a wider
group of people get to listen to it. Everyone seems to be
saying good things about it.

wow. this soundtrack is damn good. i'm really so glad i paid
the nearly $40 to get it. damn fine album. i had really been
missing this stuff, and if they know whats good for them,
they'll be playing this on the tour instead of all that Bob
Jaroc stuff.

$40 for a Soundtrack in the States ? Could you only find it
as an import or....it cant be that much domestically. Its
on my list of cds i need to listen/buy when I get some
cash.

Yeah the Greedy Baby, with the exception of a few tracks,
didnt really do anything for me, but if i saw it like with
Bob Jaroc in sure I would be impressed.

p-brane.

i split the shipping w/ a buddy so the total w/ all of it
was $36.33.
there is no domestic version...yet (but i haven't heard any
plans for there to be either). as far as US stores that
carry it, i haven't found any.

maybe i saw them tour too many times w/ Bob, but that show
started to bore me after a while. Greedy Baby had like two
good tracks, and i'm still not the least bit interested in
Spokes.

SPD: seeing them to many times...poor poor boy. I can catch
what you mean, somethings over and over again, you can get
burned out.

No domestic version yet.......crap.

Dont dispise Spokes. It works.

the interview with plaid on the dvd is so unbelievably and
hilariously awkward. it takes them forever to say absolutely
nothing at all. i hope somebody youtubes it.

make sense after a while, which a lot of this stuff is prone
to do or not do.

yeah, the majority of anime is built around intense moments
rather than actual storytelling. once you accept that it
gets easier to enjoy it at face value.

did you watch the awesome interview?

ah shit, no. we rented it, but i'm 'onna buy the thing
anyway and call it the extended version of the album.

I just watched Tekkon Kinkreet the other night, and despite
the fact that I hate Studio 4°C, and that the ending failed
to explain my questions about the story, it was a pretty
good film. The beginning is a bit slow, and it took me over
half the film to get over the fact that the I hate the way
the people are drawn, but the soundtrack is awesome (thanks,
Plaid), and the animation of everything but the people is
really cool. I probably wouldn't watch it again, but it was
fairly entertaining.
