the video was nice, btw, a bit boring as a video,
but with amazing images on it...

yeah...
but i wonder, couldnt clark make the album longer, instead
of releasing that amount of eps???

what do you guys think about the video?

video didn't fit the music imo, nice work on the textures
and realism but i don't really think that's enough to make
an interesting video

How much more mileage can they wring out of the economy
version of "Windowlicker" that is "Ted", what else is it
going to be released on? The video of exotic insects is as
pointless as it is attractive, and has about as much to do
with the track as the track has to do with anything anyone
might find remotely interesting apart from some of you silly
buggers.

That video was horrible.
I think they couldve achieved similar results by randomly
flicking through nature channels on TV.

The video is fucking appalling...what little life the track
had the video just sucked it out.

Chris should just call his next album "Music I hope they
pick up for TV adverts for cars and mobiles" because that's
all he seems to be aiming for. It's pretty sad that his
music just sounds very, um, 2nd best and flat. Technically
not bad but soulless.
Jackson does the style of music Chris does much better than
Chris.

I think "Ted" is quite a nifty, catchy, nicely produced
little track. I don't know why it's winding people up so
much. I imagine he's releasing all these eps because he
wanted "Body Riddle" to work as an album, which meant some
good tracks couldn't make it as they didn't work within the
overall scope of that release.

If his aim was to produce music that you didn't want to
listen to, his success has been inordinate.

Heh...Well I just see that track as an enjoyable piece of
music when you're in the right mood. It's not stunningly
original, but it does the job.

i dont really like where clark has gone with his production.
it all sounds too muddy lately.

everything has this crisp, hard feel to it up until body
riddle and its eps.

I can't think of one real worl example when I'd say "Hey,
hang on a minute... check this out." It's like Ecnad
says, it's short and repeptitve enough to be a track from an
advert, and you'd say what's that track from that ad, and
the answer would be that actually is the track from
the ad, it's not edited at all, it's just 40 seconds of the
same loop that sounds like it was lifted wholsale from
Windowlicker, timestretched to three times its length, then
released at least 3 times by Warp, god knows I can't wait
for the extended 2 minute DVD release.

i wouldn't release Ted as an EP, but it doesn't matter.
i like his music and hopefully will like this ep too.

that said, the description says the ep is "partly made up of
reinterpretations, building on ideas and remixing tracks
from the album."

welly welly?

I think this is the right way to do it. It's better to
release a 45 min album, and then release an ep with
out-takes, remixes and so on. I think his last album is
quite ok, and another half hour with b-sides material
wouldn't make it better.

Braindance:
"Jackson does the style of music Chris does much better than

Chris." LOLmongo! They got the same style? Get a fucking
grip.

Yes, you're right. Jackson actually produces some half
interesting music.

Anything on Thriller shits on anything off Body Riddle.
Chris just wishes he could come up with anything like 1,2,3
or Wanna Be Starting Something. To think otherwise is just
foolish.

i also thought myself that jackon and clark has similar
sound... i bought the last albums of the two artists at the

jackson and chris clark sound nothing alike. unless two
artists who are 'heavily compressed and textured' somehow
cannot be seperated, and we might as well compare the
923480239483 other artists who are 'heavily compressed and
textured' as well.

but i guess for people who make unimaginably weak
comparisons that are either nonsensical, or founded off one
single aphex twin track and one single chris clark track
that both have a thudded kick on the first and a snare-ish
handclap on the 3rd, then a lot of irrelevant
opinionated-yet-illlogical tripe will rear its ugly head
from people who just like making a ton of noise about a
release they hate, and god forbid if anyone likes it.

this release looks very boring and the video kind of blows.
thats okay though.

Oh god, you're so right, no one say anything unless it's "Oh
this is great" or "I don't like this, but I respect any
creative endeavour, so, yeah, cool". In fact why have a
textbox on this messageboard at all? Just have two radio
buttons with the above "opinions" and you just pick which
one you want for whatever topic's being "discussed".

A ton of noise.. on a messageboard, read mainly by people
looking for Oink invites and Americans who woke up after the
party had long finished. Fuck off.

i think the video really suits his sound, just in terms of
what his sounds represents to me. that is; really skeletal
yet gloopy. i remember describing it as rubbing against a
skeleton in a pool of warm chocolate. i wouldn't mind
watching some insects for 4 minutes.

insect-ey enough. Where are the praying mantids, the
termites fighting the ants, the crows, the dead rats?

ted is ted. the remix is the remix. then theres the other
tracks.
generalizing a lot here.. but they're.. alright, somewhat
nice and mellow songs right in the mood of body riddle, with
the sound and the production pretty much exactly the same.
for me, this wasn't any near as interesting as his 2006
releases..
all with the exception of Bruise Animations.. which seems to
be based on Matthew Unburdened, though it's totally
different, with a detuned but real nice melody over those
loud clark drums. yeah..

Haven't checked out his myspace, but I've DL and listened to
the EP, and I think it's quite mediocre. The remix is
actually very nice. A guitar-version of Ted :)
"Bruise animation" is ok, "Mia Farrow" sounds like Clark is
just playing with noisey-ambient sounds, and is boring.
"Springtime epiphany" is a sort of extended version of
"Springtime Epigram" with xylophones and "Cremation Drones"
sounds to me like another bored Clark having fun with
sounds. Just like Throttle Clarence this is b-material
except the remix. DL only for me.

the pictures are really great and the concept of those

Jackson does the style of music Chris does much better
than
Chris

that's the thing...it might be that Clark spends a lot less
time for writing/mixing/sampling etc.
