I've always had a bit of lust for pale oily dark haired
british girls. The really confused looking ones who look
like they just stepped out of a rehabilitation clinic.

that's what i meant..

it was kinda like old jonesy was saying that acknowledgement
of there being two sexes was, by definition, sexist. i can
see where mimi is coming from, same with jonesy, now that
he's clarified his position - it was a sweeping
over-generalisation that was made..

the interesting thing was that, had yer man said, "I don't
find English women attractive", I doubt there'd have been
any objection (and there definitely shouldn't have been),
but it was since a derogatory term was used that it sparked
criticism.

i find the whole thing more interesting than offensive
really

On a tenuously relevant note, Shane Meadows new film 'This
is England' looks like its going to be brilliant.

Well, I'd say it's the most important part of communication;
If the person on the receiving end of the message doesn't
get your intention, it's miscommunication, it's a failed
communication, so while the words are indeed the only
"tangible" part of the communication (or, rather, there are
tons of other things to it, but in this case, this being
internet and all, we don't have much more to go on).

I don't get where the ignorance part is coming from, though.
He said that in his experience most British chicks are ugly.
And Britain is indeed right now one of the forerunners for
the rest of us (we'll probably catch up, stupid as we are)
when it comes to obesity, etc.

I think in many cases like this, it isn't the actual
statement (often, as here, misunderstood) that is the worst.
I think the problem starts when someone gets offended by
something they shouldn't get offended by. Like I've argued
before over the use of the word nigger, for instance, I
think you participated in that discussion, but to reiterate:
I'd say it isn't the words in themselves that are
derogatory, but the attitudes (the intentions).

It is indeed interesting.. and even more so in situations
like these where body language is missing. Any one of us
could be taking the piss, but because this is "nothing but
words," we're all more prone to misinterpretations. At the
same time, a written statement is often more thought through
and more accurate than a verbal statement. At the same time
it's easier to lie (conceal the truth) and to be precise
("strike" more accurately at the truth).

what's so sexist about saying that british women are uglier
than british men? its just the plain truth. the british
features are more suitable to men then they are to their
women.. simple.

its just like scandinavian women are much more beautiful
then thair male counterparts, which just seem pale and
lifeless, whereas many of the women are like nordic gods.

its just a matter of esthetics, not sexism.

and if you want to interpret it as sexism, i do not give a
shit actually, cause it wasnt my intention.

and please, stop denying the undeniable.. british girls are
quite ugly, generally.

it's that you are using a different standard for men and
women

what different standard? i am just saying that the british
men look better. the standards are the same. british
features are better on men than they are on their women.
just like scandinavian features are far better on their
women then on their pallid men.

quite simple.

Why clever? I don't know, I'm sleepy. Just plain american
one, excelling in lack of empathy.
