not really. prices are determined by how much it sells,
prices are almost always fair. a high price doesnt increase
demand you know?

i'll only get one if it's got dual batteries...

1 battery for the phone and 1 for the mp3 player. why?
because i'd hate to run the batteries down playing mp3's
only to find out that i've run the phone dead too...

...then it would be a useless brick and i would need a
celphone still. otherwise i think it's pretty interesting
and impressive...

1. i like the phone/ipod combo
2. i like the features
3. it blows any other phone in the market out of the water.
4. OSx actually running on it!!!

but i won't buy it.

Its too much money

The plan you'll have to get to use it is too much money

the cellphone industry is horrible. Contracts are a joke
and those pay month by month or whenever you use are
designed to be shitty as possible to make you want to sign a
two year contract. then there are the fee's and other
retarded bullshit things you're charged for. its weird how
people don't cry foul about this

you'll never see an iphone on verizons network in the future
unless they can put on their own shitty OS and charge you an
additional dollar or two for itunes downloads on top of
apples charge.

you have to use cingular, you can't pick your provider as of
now. granted apple worked with them to set up special
features for the phone. you're locked into their service.
not to mention if you want full use of the phone you'll have
to up your plan and pay additional for that. unless you're
in a hot wifi spot...

Apple did introduce a really good & cool product.
Unfortunatly they didn't introduce something that would
shake up the industry. A contract for a phone is rediculous,
why don't you have one for cable service? regular phone
service, internet service? but cellphones...yea we need to
lock people into a contract for those. everyday people use
these things now...its not drug dealers and the upper crust
of society anymore.

then there's the storage 4 & 8 gigs? how about a nice 90
gig iphone...for the same price...haha.

nice try steve jobs, but i'll still carry arond my 60 gig
ipod with my shitty verizon razr...i can deal.

The cellphone industry is horrendous.
Why do we accept it?
I don't buy my computer from my broadband company (thank
God!), why should I buy my phone from my network operator?
Why should they be able to tell me what I can and can't do
with it? (see OBEX)
Hate.

Well, seeing as apple just went ahead and used another
smaller brands name, without its permission, after copywrite
talks had fallen through only prooves as far as I am
concerned, that apple is just as bad a company as microsoft.
Now that they can get viri. And the fact that ipods die
after a year isn't winning me any favor for them.

one?

Here are some ads for it.

I really don't see how this product could be of any benefit
to me. I still have a 5+ year old track phone that's slowly
falling apart. It's good enough for me.

But I think it will sell well.

I suppose only rich people will buy it.

#1 More efficient way to throw money down the toilet than
buying an iphone: Actually take your money and flush it down
the toilet. The other way you are left with an iphone.

I see, so for comparison the reasons I slate the ipod mini
(they always break, have shitty propriatery software, gash
batteries that die after 18 months and that the alternatives
are far better, more robust and cheaper) aren't valid and
the only real reason I didn't buy one was that I couldn't
afford £80, right?

The case is more: You (needlessly) spunked your money up the
wall on an overpriced and nowhere near as revolutionary as
was first claimed phone (which in any event, you won't use
most of the features of) and now seek to justify this by
saying everyone wants one, but most people couldn't
afford one. Out of interest, do you think Maddox (the author
of that article) can't afford one and that's why he
criticises it? I'm willing to bet he has a few more $ in the
bank than you...
