firefox 2.0 annoyances

when it adds a notification bar at the top, for instance to
inform of a blocked pop-up, it slides it in, moving
everything else along with it. This is completely annoying.

I'm sure there's something in about:config to fix it, but
that's not really my point; I feel like the firefox retards
are spending all there time adding questionable bits which
some mongoloid subset of the populace find shiny.

I wish they could do something decent, like cut down on the
ridiculous memory usage.

also the new default (also 'shiny') theme looks like goat
ass.

I use debian, and during a routine upgrade last night it got
pushed in..

probably a sane choice. I definitely don't trust them to
write security conscious code..

it even has a "debian sid" download on the site! I'll try
it for a while (at least a week) and hopefully stick with
it.

Here's the solution, took me five seconds to search for in
about:config ->

go to about:config

under filter, type popup. Near the bottom is
privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage set it to false by double
clicking on it. piece'a'piss

so FIRST of all, I clearly stated that my point isn't to fix
it.

second of all, you didn't stop the scrolling, you disabled
the message entirely.

you fail on two accounts, JOUST AGAIN

It's PRETTY BAD, I broke up with my girlfriend, am behind in
research, and need to start my grad school applications.

thanks for asking though, how are you?

thanks for having a bittorrent tracker, by the way, I
grabbed all the vibert yesterday.

Sorry, I never do that sort of thing any more, but you can
email me any time, I still read the email account in my
profile, sometimes.

What scroll? All it adds is a small bar at the top, nothing
scrolls on it....

As for the memory usage, well that can be fixed too. You can
just adjust the way in which is cache's the pages/images in
memory.

You can't be arsed to fiddle under the bonnet to get it to
work, yet you're happy to use almost the most fiddly-est of
the linux distros. Suit yourself you grumpy bastard, I was
just trying to help

i like it when it tells you it blocks something, cause if
its something you need to see for the site you say hey let
er rip

none of you actually read what I said!

the scrolling thing *isn't* the issue. the issue is the
general focus of firefox, and I used that one thing to lead
into the topic.

!!!

it's a buggy, insecure piece of bloated shit, and it seems
to be run by marketing wankers who want it to be pretty.

THAT is my complaint. THANK YOU FOR MISUNDERSTANDING. I
ESPECIALLY APPRECIATE THE POST WHICH TRIES TO ASSERT
LINUX-PENIS-SIZE.

why dont you just use something else instead of bitching
about it

what's up with people in this thread?

are we allowed to bitch about music on this website, or when
we dislike a disc or whatever are we to stay silent and
simply purchase others until we find one we like and then..
praise it here?

it was once a nice piece of sofware, but then its intent was
derailed.

not sure why everyone is being retarded.

I just use it to surf the web, which it does quite well. I
don't care for sliding in toolbars and auto updates from
buttcore.
