i have 4 of his first cds.........
"sheet one" is a cd cover but it has hundreds of perferated
squares, similar to acid with the plastikman symbol on
it....WOULD THEY ACTUALLY PUT REAL ACID ON A CD CASE?
MAYBE/MAYBE NOT.

i was listening to a new mix cd by him at the cd store - i
can't remember what it was called, the store guy recomended
it to me.
i remember it being pretty ok.

i've also heard a really acidy 10 minute remix that he did,
and it was a fucking mind fuck.

His album 'Consumed' is really cool. It's all super
sub-bass dub. Without a good subwoofer there isn't much to
hear though.

i'm not sure if i still have Artifakts BC, but there were
some good mellow beats on it :)

I love both sides of richie hawtin, his hard stuff and
plastikman, plasticity is amazing

Havent heard much but what I have heard I've enjoyed it. I
seen one of his video clips (in a mental hospital) and
really liked it a lot.

Consumed is better than artifakts... It's as close that
anyone out of that detroit scene has got to Pan Sonic.
Perhaps due to the fact that this album was made when
immigration office found out Richie didn't have a working
license and deported him back to Canada, so he quit working
on Artifakts, (B.C. means before consumed) and made consumed
instead. Nice minimal stuff. Later, he got back to detroit
and made artifakts, but, IMO he needn't have bothered, after
splendid consumed. His mix CD's are kickass.

one guy did get arrested for having the cover of Sheet 1 on
his dashboard when stopped by the fuzz... they were pretty
realistic...

His latest stuff is pretty cool as well; most techno bods
seem to go a bit stale after a few albums but He seems to be
able to keep the quality way up there...the DE9 / Decks,
Effects & 909 project keeps getting better & better...He's
getting well into that Final Scratch software now and the
next release (could already be out) is gonna be created
using that... from what I've heard so far, it's well nice...

just picked up the mixmag vol.20 - very nice so far (tho it
has yet to stand the test of time) .. very minimal acid,
posed to dks/fks/909 and or DE9

Consumed rulz ..

DE9: [jand] - which you're referring to was released similar
time to drukqs .. fucken lovely album if i do say so meself
:)

great

yes indeed if you dont have a nice system to play it on with
good sub-bass response ~50Hz and below then your not going
to enjoy it.

love the build up, and the 'realised' climax ca. track 15 or
something .. starts of real tight - but gradually breaks
loose ... personally prefer it to dks/fks/909 -

lot of Brinkman in his mixes)

no, got no andreas whatthefuckhisname is. Never heard of
him. Have to check him out if you recommend him. Soul center
is a bit sweet and not all that minimal, but very good. Have
you heard Delay's "Naima"? A bit too out of focus for me but
some of my friends love it... Perhaps I should listen to it
more...

re: andreas tilliander [Ljud], depends how much you
like/tolerate minimal stuff. i think its fucken great (check
out www.allmusic.com).

i've been meaning to get ahold of mutila - saw it in a
record store the other day (and clicks n cuts compilation
off mille-plateaux) - but didn't have any money - now all
gone :/ ... ill get it off the net sooner or later :)

haven't heard naima tho - actually, a friend of mine just
recently went to europe and bought 30+ cd's [he is doing a
masters in art history/electronic music history!!!].. a lot
of glitchy stuff .. haven't caught up with him proper tho -
some burning could be on the cards :)

Yeah, well, have you heard "Anima" as it is kind of a live
thing combined with some luomo but really unfocused and
freefloating...

I mean "Naima" is "Anima" live etc. Pan Sonic's Aaltopiri
was good, but some of their EP's are the best stuff they
did...

naima - hehe.. yeah .. thought i hadn't come across it
before .. - haven't heard it tho .

yeah .. some of the pan sonic i've heard is wicked -
unfortunately tho i don't know what i heard!

live was mad tho - they were banging their home made synth
all over the show :)

yeah .. they had them too [was aaltopiri live].. the synth
was more "the spectacle" - picking it up and then proceeding
to play feedback :)
