it's good but it could be way better if he combined the best songs from ultravisitor and this one. maybe do one proper album and one with all the filler tracks. i like the songs where the drums match melodies and i don't like those drill'n'bass ones. those are just plain dull and unimaginative.

good album. rotate electrolyte is my current fave, but i could have done without the longwinded chords at the end.

I like this album. It's a nice mix of old drill n bass and his jazzy tracks, imo. It's also the only Warp release this year that match my expectations. Only tracks I don't like is Vacuum Garden and Orient Orange. Overall: not his best work, but I like it better than recent stuff like DYKS and Go Plastic.

im dissapointed cause theres no sqp poetry like on 50 cycles or f-train, really like that side of him.. otherwise a solid album, need to get more familiar with it i suppose

A couple of nice tracks perhaps yes, but honestly I didn't like this album that much. He did make far better albums in my opinion.

i love it.
so he spent more time writing melody than rhythm.. or perhaps just re-jigged his priorities and goals for this album.. what does it matter?
it's still packed full of stunning music

good album but I don't understand one thing with this album and ultravisitor sqpr seems to look behind to records like hard normal daddy while go plastic and dyks look very different and ahead of the time of their release. Is he nostalgic?

i think this album is more accesible for people who never heard anything from sqp but it doesnt bring anything new to me. I like tracks planetarium and vacuum garden but the rest is not so interesting as i expected. go go go plastic :)

erm. it is very pleasant and such. doesn't capture my imagination like his other releases. the happy accesible tracks outweigh the strange noisy ones for a change. TJ Pusher sure knows how to sustain a good melody (see: welcome to europe), making the album mildly worthwhile. i've only listened to it about six times so i'll be back in a year or so to revise this worthless statement.

sounds a little too calm for me. like it lacks of things happening. not busy enough compared to hnd or go plastic! some beautiful melodies but i'm not fond of those chord sequences. lots of similarities with many ultravisitor tracks. 1 track per record would've been enough for me.

I don't think it's as simple as people are saying, it's just that he's focused his attention on sophisticated harmonic and melodic developements, rather then his clever drum programming. It's nice to hear an electronic reocord in this day and age with some good melodies.

i think you over-rate his 'harmonic and melodic developments'. the melodies are very good and have that squarepusher aura about them but its not like they're super complex or anything.

not necessarily. why would you ask that? i probably should have used the word 'overestimate' there, instead of 'overrate'.
current favourite tracks:
-bubble life -theme from sprite -circlewave 2 -rotate electrolyte
the instrumental tracks, mostly.
'welcome to europe' is kind of like the 'theme from ernest borgnine' on this album. also, maybe i'm mad, but those really soft contracting noises at the beginning of bubble life remind me of the not so soft contracting noises on 'rebus' from hard normal daddy.

i think it is an amazing album that brings nothing (or almost nothing) new to squarepusher sound / electronic music. but i like the way it sounds fresh and "happy" and simple and variatedin styles, compared to UV, which was also great, even better, but hard to listen in some moments.
the man is having fun, music is having fun, i am having fun.

Get Jenkinson on X Factor before he releases any more shit like "Hello Everything". Under the wing of Simon Cowell we can watch Pusher, helped by his team of X Factor cunts, transform into a Westlife-a-like and disappear after his first shitty single fails to tickle the knobs of the knob-less.
Watch him sink into a world of depression where he comes to terms with the fact he is not an amalgamation of Jaco Pastorious, Mark King, Kenny G and Bill fucking Bailey. Listen to him repeat time and time again, "I don't have to make music for adverts.....or lifts and I'm much better than my brother so why has he been beating me lately?"
He will start to take drugs again: he will release the "Alroy Road to Recovery" ep that sees him get in touch with his inner-core and make, once again, acid like no-one else makes acid; fucked-up jungle like he invented it and so on and so on.
Good Day.
