They're called geisha's. There were loads of them in Kyoto.

Like keyfumbler said: Tokyo is easy but other places you should have few fraises perfected like 'can I have a glass of beer?' etc.
I'd recommend Osaka & Kyoto, Tokyo is amazing though, it makes London look like a small village out in the sticks!
