Does anyone here ride BMX? I've just bought one, waiting
for it to arrive; I'm pretty excited about it - wanted one
for the past couple of years and decided to splash out and
enjoy it.

they are decent for stunts etc.

but why the fuck do people ride them as normal bikes? they
have no fucking gears dammit!

I bought mine to do tricks on - looking forward to grinding
down stair-rails etc... Wouldn't take it on a cycle to the
countryside!

You are going to get one of those chopper bikes (not the
raleigh chopper- I mean the long low push bikes made to look
like chopped cruisers). You will also spray it black then do
custom paint job details over the top.

(just a hunch ;-) )

Dont forget to get one of those girlie baskets to put in the
front and those small cheerleader pom-poms at the end of the
handle bars.

And remember folks, always wear your.........nutcup.

Used to a lot. But I got too tall and big for mine. :]
Tricks were fun. I couldn't do ramps, never tried, but I
learned how to flat-land freestyle very well I think. Had a

That was my bike, those Skyway wheels weighed about 120lbs
each and you had to replace the bearings every two days.

There wasn't much difference from your starting post in this
thread to be honest.

and in any event, I was interested by it. Can you
remember were you saw a very similar bike to that recently?

Ezkerraldean: Agreed, but the tricks you can do on that
TL-engined monster are insane. I've yet to see someone nail
a 100mph wheelie on a BMX.

Hanal: I'm having real snags finding anywhere that'll drill
the holes I need on the deck plates and it looks like I
won't be able to do it myself as my garage won't be sorted
for a while yet (looks like I might need a complete rebuild
of it! :-( ) I've knackered a couple of drill bits trying to
do them with a mains powered hand drill, so it looks like a
bench drill is the only option. Do you have access to one?
Naturally I'd pay any costs incurred. Let me know and as
ever, thanks in advance!
