Dunno, coz it's the first I listen from you, but for

This is fucking great! I love the variety. The cackling
loungey melody decompresses me. Cool ping sounds, reminds me
of metroid for NES heh. Beats are (dare I say) lush. Your
beats always are. Thanks for the track. I want everything
you've ever made.

he's a black man, he has no choice but to be into hip hop

as for the track.. well, it isn't really my kind of thing,
but the instrument in the melody made me think of silent
hill and the trpilet-ish part was awesome!

the first part until about 1'20'' - the kick is annoying,
too much in the foreground, doesn't fit to the snare
part.....then when another snare comes during the track - it
all gets better. good autechrish stuff overall.

It still sounds like a poor autechre immidation. You seem
to be trying to replicate with time stretched samples what
autechre do with FM percussion elements and it doesn't work
for me. Parts are nice but overall I think it needs
development.

you should listen to the song again and, i dont know, look
for some colors in it? i think you are listening to it,
and, with a sheet of paper taking notes and you're also
wearing a labcoat. "diagnosis: total autechre wank,
technical ability 0/0, zero, further analysis undergoing"
looking for black and white.. or something. i dont know.
thanks for listening to it.

You are really really touchy. I never said it was wank...I
said it was a poor imitation, which is what it is. It
doesn't hold up on it's own. You force the comparison to
autechre I don't go intentionally looking for it.

I've listened to the track three times and it just feels
like a track by numbers.

I genuinely didn't realise you had began posting tracks as

actually listened to the track at all. the fact is it
sounds nothing like autechre, its the combined fact that you

make music that i like. have a nice day.

Listening to this on pc speakers so i can't really comment
on the "production" side of things... probably be talking
out my arse anyway :)

Funny, for something so obviously ae-influenced (and it
fookin' IS, man, there's really no point pussyfooting
around) there's not much "swing" there, it sounds a bit "4/4
trying to be something else." Not much of a headnodder.
There's a really nice bit around 1:50 where i thought it was
going to go all triplet-timey-gescom but it didn't, heh. Not
all bad though, that sounds harsher than it should, i'm just
having a hard time putting my finger on what i like about
the track. And i haven't had a very thorough listen so you
probably shouldn't put too much stock in this. Yeh.

If theres one thing I know about producing music, it's never
your intention to sound like someone. The production is
spontaneous and completely original. Oh no, that awesome
sound I just came up with is a bit like so and so, better
delete it. If it happens to come out in a fashion that can
be related to so and so, then why is it considered
'criticism' to mention that? thats a personal opinion on the
genre (which you all do every fucking spam thread), I rarely
see comments on the track, the production, the sounds. Then
after you upset someone, which was your intention all along
no matter how relaxed or neutral you feel sitting at the
computer, you tell them to grow up. what the fuck is up xlt.
show some love.

delusion
1.
a. The act or process of deluding.
b. The state of being deluded.
2. A false belief or opinion: labored under the delusion

3. Psychiatry A false belief strongly held in

mental illness

I almost fell out of my chair reading your post braindance -

Saying my music is a poor imitation of a band is a personal
attack. the music itself has no intentions at all, its just
a piece of artwork - so you must be trying to say that i am
the one making the imitation which basically just means im
not actually creative or original at all, and theres nothing
creative or original about my song which is bullshit. how
can the song itself (roughly 4mb of computer data) have any
intentions on its own without the artist? the production
comments i appreciated but when you just parachuted into my
thread and called me an imitation, that is a personal attack

I quite frequently, after a few hours of tinkering on
something and when I'm having the first listen through of
the whole thing in one go, think "what the fuck?! this
sounds completely like [insert artist name]!" However, I
quite often just keep going and while it does indeed almost
always end up sounding like who it sounded like at first, I
still post it; it's my track, and I'm also ready for people
saying stuff like "this sounds like an imitation of
[artist]!" (weirdly enough people don't seem to make the
same conclusions as I do, so it hasn't really been mentioned
too often). On that note, cygnus, I don't think anyone is
saying it isn't your track or that you were intentionally
trying to create autechre, but some harsh wordings aside,
this sounds a lot like autechre, and you should be aware by
now that your music does, and you should also be ready to
take the comparison. I can't remember what tycho did, but
he, too, should be ready for such comparisons.
