obara said "good autechrish stuff overall."
ecnadniarb said "It still sounds like a poor autechre
immidation."

Can you find the comment and the insult?

Yes, the comment is "fuck off". The insult is "you deranged

I guess I must be listening to the wrong sample, because the
one I downloaded, with a psuedo-Autechre sounding name,
sounds a lot like Untilted era Autechre. Now are you going
to insult me by saying I can't download an MP3 or that
perhaps my fucking ears and brain are fucked?

Whiskey and Drill...what a title that would make.

Ye GODS, you're not a bad egg but you don't half dig
yourself into some holes, man. Why don't we agree that
whenever somebody makes "a personal attack" or "a criticism"
(i'm not sure you know the difference) in one of your
threads, you'll just ignore it, carry on making Phatt Beetz
and pipe down before we all lose the fucking will to live.
So what if somebody thinks your music is the worst steaming
pile of shit ever to be scraped off booth and brown's
bootheels? Or that you're an utter cunt who should be shot
into the sun? (i'm not saying either of those are true,
before you start having a tantrum) Does it make it anything
other than their opinion? An opinion you obviously don't
respect anyway, so LET's JUST TAKE IT ELSEWHERE, jesus

Yeah, that's what I Was referring to. Accidently sounding
like someone, perhaps someone you haven't heard, is
permissable. Sounding exactly like somone that you're know
to wank on about at any given opportunity, perhaps not so
much.

1) a psuedo-Autechre sounding name

I already posted once in this thread that the original title
was a date. thus, "August". you are a retard. The track
title doesn't contain any words I've seen before. It must be
pseudo-autechre
Go look at some teenage girls

2) sounds a lot like Untilted era Autechre.

All that means to me is that you haven't listened to
untilted in a while. Please inform which track off of
untilted this song even comes close to resembling.

Ok, it doesn't sound Autechre, least of all Untilted.

The beats sound unique, pure Cygnus, it's your way of
expressing yourself via beats, it's just a work of art,
nothing more though nothing less. It's your distilled vision
of music exposing us lucky souls to a little glimpse into
your world.

Solid production, good sound pallete, nice development over
the 4 minutes, would sound great on any IDM compilation or
even a 12".

it's probably like with when I hear something that sounds
like punk rock and I say, god damn, not more punk rock and
then someone who listens a lot to punk rock says "what? this
isn't punk rock! it's post-punk crossbow flog!" and then I'm
all "no, it's punk rock..." and then we drink beer, but the
point is that you're an autechre nut and you also made the
track, so you, of course, being more acquainted with both,
do what the punk aficionado does, and denies that what bears
many resemblances to something is like it due to certain
minor differences in the details.

this sounds awesome (except for the one small arpeggio right
at the end that kind of bugged me slightly (I think it may
have reminded me of practicing scales), but it isn't of any
consequence for the track)! did you play all instruments
yourself? full track?

the arpeggio is leading into the next section, so it sounds
much better with that (over the top of the end).
the violin is played (for other song) by a friend - i can't
play the violin for toffee, but I just took single-note
samples and worked them into an entirely different peice.

if i said "good autechrISH stuff, but sounding too much like

read he can hardly take any criticism, so....i tried to be
as polite as i could.

hmm, maybe, but I'll probably have a reaction to that
particular sequence of notes no matter where it is. that's
just me, though.

you've made the violin sound very natural if that's a
chopped up thing.. good job!

Actually the arpeggio bit is the only bit that's a naturally
played sequence. I couldn't be arsed to rework it so I just
used that 7 or so note section wholesale :)

There I was thinking this topic was so long because everyone
was raving about how good the tune was. Not what I expected
(the thread). I downloaded it, Cygnus. I like it. It's
pretty good. It seems to resemble Autechre. You made it
though, not Autechre, so it has your mark on it. Don't
worry. Be happy.
