weird stuff on maps.google

I found some alien looking circles west of El Paso. Zoom
out quite a bit with hybrid on. Follow the US-Mexican border
west from El Paso. When it turns straigt down, it's about
half way in there. Zoom in and you should see a grid of
about 45 squares with circles. There are some cars parked in
the middle. I'm guessing it's some kind of mining operation
as the circles are huge.

That is weird. Some kind of artificial round lakes?

Also, in Coronado, San Diego Bay, on the beach next to Star
Park, it says "coronado". Looks like it's made with dirt.
Huge letters.

I can't find it now but I did see this awesome thing where
the CCD had been reflected back into the picture somehow and
made this lake look like an alien civilization.

circular fields like that are everywhere in the US, they are
just crops with a circular sprinkler system that rotates
around the central spoke to water.

Those sprinkler systems must be enormous, but the results
look cool from space.

Too bad the resolution sucks for Almeida, Spain. The brownish
structures you see are green houses used for growing
tomatoes. Huge areas, it's like an armor covering the earth
when you see it from an airplane.

My mom does GIS and planning for our city of Omaha, so she
has access to all the "top secret" satellite images and
photographs of the Earth. Well, not really top-secret, but
far better quality than Google Earth. It's pretty cool
stuff. :]

For 16°21'32.40"N
145°42'13.78"E,

Are you referring to the chasm that that point resides in,
or is there something else interesting there that I am
missing? Or did I input the data incorrectly and go to the
wrong spot entirely?
