This album blows my mind, and this is actually my first
purchase of music since I bought run DMC back when I was 10
years old, before that was 'smurfs go pop'

I love all the tracks except XIII's Dub & Vache.

Aaron funk really has some skills, bastard!

Anyway, I'll probably buy the new album, since it has some
nice orchestra instruments in there.

I know you've probably talked about this album already, but
what do you think regardless?

blowing.

Also, aphex twin has loads of music he hasn't released,
venetian snares just prefers to put it all out, unlike the
greedy bastard richard d james keeping it all for himself!

i love the first three and the last one. could be released
as a ep instead of a longplay filled with semi inteligent
idmz.

but swindon got me - i love this track - maybe one of
v-snares best but it's so trany that i'm embarassed to admit
that i like it.

when you slow it down without pitch shifting it sounds like
a bomfunk mc's track

offline exsub from United Kingdom on 2006-06-18 14:41 [#01922703]

the last bit of cancel is probably the best i've ever heard
of venetian snares, but also twirl is brilliant with the
little gaps inbetween the beats.

bezcitny beats cancel in being the best last track of a
venetian snares album about a dozen times.

Yeah I think the later bit of bezcitny is really good with
the more traditional beat (the 7/8 bass drum that comes in
every block)

a propos 7/8 - i think he has played a bit with different
time signatures making cavalcade - isn't swindon 7/14 ?? or
7/13 ?? seems like that

bezcitny is a killer. yeah the beginning is shite but when
you now wha'ts waiting for you in the second part you can
easily handle it.

or just crop it off with cool edit ...

i realised another thing - this album doesn't contain any
"vs-typical" or "getting shit after 30 seconds" track. like
contain or hand throw with their wicked endings.

I was talking about the Aphex type.

I'm no big Aphex fan, but at least I like some of his

find it mind blowing.

it's better than witboas though. witboas is shit, ok? let me
make it fucking clear. it's boring as all hell, the man
can't sing and i'ld prefer to bang my head into a tray full
of used siringed while my ass is on fire rather than to
listen to that shit.

it definetely does have a different mood and slower pace to
it than any other snares album, but i find it boring. some
tracks are heaps good, but the album dont do much for me : (

I might seem "stupid and childrish" now (because I'm about
to hype a "gabber-track") :p but, I just want to say (in
response to exsub disliking the track) to me Vache has some
"deep beauty" in that female vocal-sample and those
nintendo-chords.. but I agree that the "Dub" track is a
filler (but probably to add "stylistic variation" to the
album or whatever)

he'd still put loads of shit tracks out on eps tho, the
format is irrelevent. if he did something different maybe i
might like some of his shit

but in the same way stockhausen could do a bluegrass track
one of these days, it would still sound like stockhausen

Love this album!

Cancel is mind blowing.

I think some people only dislike VS because of the volume of
releases he puts out.

offline dave_g from United Kingdom on 2006-06-30 13:34 [#01930062]

I barely listened to this in the record shop, flicked
through very quickly, needle dropped my way through all four
sides of vinyl in under 2 minutes....

rossig thingy was ace, hmmm let`s give this cavalcade of
blah blah (too long to bother to read), a chance...

anyway, I`m dissapointed with it. Good old Mr.Funk has gone
back to making good old spastic glitch, wicked, except that
it`s not. It`s quite tiresome now, rossig was good because
it was different (hint hint).

Even snares can`t do snares style well anymore. his style
got thrashed by rdj with that rephlexions track, mangle11,
and apart from the anomolous rossig, it looks like it`s back
to the same.

So I`m a bit annoyed that I wasted my money on this mediocre
venetian snores album.... if only his laptop computer had an
"auto make analogue track" button we would be in business,
but looks like he could only afford the glitch it up VST, I
guess he sat on the old violin too. shame

I liked this at first but i ahve to admit it hasn't stuck
with me like most snares albums do. I kinda don't listen to
it too much which is a shame really. maybe its just my
musical mood rather than the actual album because its
certainly nto a bad album i just dont seem to be all that
absorbed by it!

i have to agree with taff there, i've listened to it too
much already in one day, and i already think it's pretty
boring. Most of the songs do start out good, but end up too
easily and too early

Like Swirl and Tache

happens!

the most interesting thing about vsnares is that if you make
the acronym for winter in the belly of a snake: witboas, it
spells boas wich is the plural of a type of snake. hahaha

and if you make an acronym for cavalcade of glee and dadaist

the first three letters of the acronym are "cog" and on the

like cogs.

wow, incredible. that cannot possibly be a coincidence

i gave this a thorough listen today and the only tracks that
stood out for me was swindon, pwntendo, plunging hornets,
and p. that would have made a great ep.

cancel was the greatest let down, just when it was going to
explode into the usual vsnare barrage it held back and never
went full on. it had potential.
