stupid lass. it's sad that gay people have to pass all those
exams to be allowed to adopt children, and every
heterosexual fool is somehow naturally tallented to be a
parent.

Don't worry, the child of someone that dull is unlikely to
be intelligent enough for brain damage to be noticeable. :)

Seriously though, I reckon you should tell your personnel
counciller to have a word with her.

I feel sorry for that kid. It hasn't even been born and gets
intoxicated already. I mean, we all were, but this is
especially fucked up. Can you give us her e-mail add. and we
could all post her some messages, like: please don't do this
you're hurting your baby.

i am on about IronLung patronising a pregnant woman he has
never met - so what if she sniffs marker pens - it isn't
like she is shooting smack into her veins... marker pens may
make you giddy, but sniffing them sure as hell ain't the
worse thing a woman can do whilst pregnant -- the reason i
got mad is because he put down her intelligence and he has
never met her...women go thru crazy and strange hormonal
phases when they are pregnant, and the last thing they need
is some male telling them what to do.

You have a bit of a point marlowe.

But anyway, abusing solvents (cause that's what she does) is
still irresponsible to the kid.

offline Ceri JC from Jefferson City (United States) on 2002-03-07 15:44 [#00115741]
Points: 23533 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

Yeah, but I think it is fair to make the generalisation that
she's probably not exceptionally bright, if she sniffs
marker pens.

"abusing solvents"? that's a bit much - i myself like the
smell of marker pens - i would hardly count myself as a
solvent abuser. it's a marker pen for god's sake.

I have the sneaking suspicion that this woman will be a
single mother, has little education, lives on a council
estate, smokes Lambert & Butler cigarettes, reads the Sun,
is fascinated by the lives of celebrities, was excited by
the programme Pop Idol and has fantasies about being whisked
away to paradise by the winner Will, purchases Now
compilations, shops in Kwik Save, has a vulgar regional
accent, doesn't vote, watches television during ALL of her
free time, doesn't read anything but OK magazine, wears gold
jewelerry and sportswear, and is blonde.

how is my statement ignorant?....A bit sarcastic I'll give
you that, but NOT ignorant.
There is NOTHING good about doing that while
pregnant...therefore IMO it is not too smart.

Its just a dumb thing to do.

it's amazing - you see the words "...sniffing marker pens"
and all of a sudden your brainwashed minds judge her as
being dumb, none too bright, obviously not as smart as
you....&tc...THAT'S irony for you.

i hope (and think) that jonesy is being satirical and making
the same point as me....

Listen to jonesy's merciless dissection of petit bourgoise
life in the UK. Is he right? Come on wizard, fill us in.

And sniffing pen markers is fucking solvent abuse, man.
Depends just how frequently you do it.

Sorry Marlowe, I agree with Jonesy's analysis, I bet he's
got it spot one. RE: Drug taking, I know a lot of
intellectuals and psychiatrists use LSD as a means of mind
expansion, a lot of apathetic philosophy students take
Heroin. These are stereotypically "Clever" Drug users.
Sniffing markers conjures up just the sort of picture Jonesy
painted.

No sorry Marlowe. I've decided to join the dark side and
become a Tory bastard. I was inspired by Louis Theoux's
programme featuring Anne Widdecombe. Hail Widdy, down with
the benefit-scrounging-markerpen-sniffing single mothers

These markers use solvents for the colour, and these have
certain physiological effects if inhaled.

want anyone I know sniffing markers regularly if pregnant.

Why do you always call me a daily mail reader? I read "the
week" a synopsis of news from ALL national papers and a lot
of international ones as it's the least biased. You really
couldn't class it as left or right wing, it presents both
sides of the argument.

I could say you sound like a guardian reader, but that would
be immature and twatish.

DON'T EVER ACCUSE ME OF READING THAT RAG THE GUARDIAN!! i am
NOT a socialist, i am NOT left wing. i read private eye.

asking people not to judge some girl they have never met
would hardly mark me out as a guardian reader -- so if you
had accused me of that, you would have just been plain
wrong.

i don't believe any person or government has the right to
stop another from travelling where they wish. eg modern
america was created by immigration...and now they have the
nerve to decide who to allow in?

if there's one thing i hate, it's nationalism. oh, and taxes
too. and i don't really like death that much either if i
were to be brutally honesT.
