ok...i know this has NOTHING to do with music, but a few
peeps on this board love soccer, play soccer, enjoy watching
games. so i am curious.

the soccer player i hear most often as the Greatest player
is Pele. who played long before i watched soccer. any new
greats out there??

Namcat; are you a Real Madrid-supporter? Damn that is one
good team. I think they will win Champions League this year.

my favorite is Zidane.
He is amazing, even if he gets a ruff tackle and fall to the
ground he is able to make a perfect pass.
He is fun to watch.

teapot - wasn't going to mention the fairweather aspect of
it! i go fairly regularly to old trafford as its easier to
get to for me than Mecca (White Hart Lane). but last night
hurt.

beckham was pure class last night. best british player at
the moment.

you portugese boys better watch out for becks - by my
reckoning we'll meet you in the final after we've dispatched
brazil, italy and france!

Patrick 'mothafucking' Kluivert :)

and also Dennis Bergkamp in his younger years... And if he
hadn't gotten himself injured so soon, Marco van Basten
would have definetly been the best soccer player ever!

I rest my case :)

ain't much soccer here in the USA. all we got is MLS, and
the women's league, so I don't really know. It's funny how
soccer (football, if you wish) is the most popular sport in
every country in the world except the united states...maybe
canada too, i'm not sure.

It is Ice Hockey here!
I went to see a game for the first time and it is so much
better than football (soccer). I used to work at Old
Trafford when I was a student and I got to see all the games
for free. I got bored of it exept when it was an
international, I would sneak into the away section.
Galatasurie fans are the best, crazy Turks!!!
