ok, now I heard the whole thing...and its not even half as
bad as I thought and as most of yall claim it to be....its
even really nice (Plaid standards, they are far from my
favourite groups). I even think that this is better than
Spokes..the only weak track on Greedy is that track that I
first hear War Dial (wich is just a interlude or something
like that)--

I pleasant album imo.

This ought to be interesting, maybe it's so fucking subtle
you peeps don't get it.... :)

I still haven't "found" it myself...

Spokes has really grown on me, parts of it get close to
Double Figure quality.

I've finally got it and am listening to it now.

I don't really like the intro "war dialer" but i think with
the DVD video behind it, it could work.

"I citizen the lothesome" is pretty dark, harsh. builds up
pretty intensely to a heavy pounding trail out. not a great
track but sets up the next track rather nicely.

I like the next two tracks "the launching of big face" and
"zn zero" both of which are very Spokes-ish, kinda
amorphous, with odd slow stumbling time signatures.

The next two tracks "The Return of Super Barrio"
Instrumental and End Credits have a retro plaid sound. I'm
not really loving these two. they are OK.

"E.M.R." is next. a very signature plaid sound. some
interesting little glitchy noises. has a very large sound,
sort of midi ambience. I am enjoying this one.

The last two tracks, are also very Plaid-sy. I'm liking them
quite a lot actually.

::

So overall i think this is a good release though as it was
meant for a DVD it's hard to really judge. But on it's own,
4 tracks on it, "The Launching of Bigface," "ZN ZERO,"
"Super Positions," and "To," are my favorites. The other
tracks range from pretty good to pretty forgettable. the
intro track is annoying. I think if you liked Spokes,
you'll like this one, maybe almost as much if not more. If
you didn't like Spokes, or don't really like Plaid, don't
bother with Greedy Baby.

yeah the intro track is extremly annoying but I really like
the others..

Zeal is one of the best Plaid tracks ever

Pretty boring album in truth. I felt the same way about
Spokes too.

Double Figure was excellent, as was all the plaid/black dog
albums prior to it. Dunno whats happened to them lately, but
i'm guessing they're either trying to (unsucessfully) milk
their trademark sound to the point of exhaustion, or they've
simply run out of ideas.

spokes was great and actually had darker/interesting melodic
ideas and good production so naturally people don't like it,
because thats frowned upon in idm i guess.

greedy baby isn't even considered a new full length album by
plaid themselves, it always has been a collaboration with
bob jaroc that took far too long to come out. so everyone is
really uptight about this being a full length solo effort
when its just a dvd collaboration with a cd of the dvd
pieces attached to it that are already 2-3 years old. the
amount of actual new plaid tracks and remixes that are being
released this year alone have been great, bodyclocker
especially, as staz mentioned. i really liked chasend too.

viewed as a full length cd its pretty lack luster, but it's
not that, so ease up on it. the videos look nice and im
interested in hearing the 5.1 mix.

"It was never supposed to be just another Plaid album--it
was something we were doing together with Bob. That's one of
the reasons it took forever, but it really is a
collaboration." - ed handley

some people filmed stuff with their phones, if i find them
i'll post them for sure.

It was a big bliss of visualism and mental Plaid music,
couple old tracks, couple new unheared (for me atleast)
tracks. Every visual was especially created for the track
and the atmosphere the track was in. The first minute you
were standing there, gaping at the beautyfull video's
glitching about paired with stomping basses and beats, and
the next you were rocking your fucking balls off.

we laughed
we dreamed
we cried
it was hella worth the 3 hour show

i think some of the of the visuals were programmed to react
to sound input yes

I don't think we can judge it until we see the DVD. It's
Plaid and Bob Jaroc, after all. The music is meant to go
with visuals.
