they are fucking great and sooo much more powerfull live .
they used to end their set with a 10 min instrumental with
got faster and faster with feedback etc "evil dildo" it was
great to behold . their isnt too many experimantal bands
like them using different guitar tunings etc (sorry sonic
youth didnt have the same effect)

Placebo did afx?

I don't like 'em and don't hate 'em. They're just power-pop
with an edgier sound. Not much to ohh and ahh over.

I think the singer is not satisfied with his gender and that
has a lot of appeal to insecure teenagers. The music is a
lot better than most stuff.

the aphex song is tacked onto the end of "evil dildo" the
hidden track on the end of "without you i'm nothing" album.
and mate if you like stabbing westward maybe you wouldnt be
inclined towards music like placebo . its not just brians
lyrics gender isssues that apeal - i know where i stand on
that front its the combination of lyrics great guitars fx
etc and the power of their songs

Without You I'm Nothing, is a great album. I had just
finished a three year relationship when I was listening to
it, so it was very apt.

I like placebo a lot
the last two albums are very good
I went to a U2 concert (pop mart) in Madrid 1997 and they
played first...it was amazing!!

and uh wuts this afx smaple u speak of??

the only sample i hear at the end of evil dildo is a
distorted voice saying stuff like 'ill cut your cock off and
stuff it in my mouth'

that's the answering machine message that's played
throughout the song...i guess it's some obsessive stalker, i
remember reading about that song a couple years ago. the afx
sample is from Funny Little Man - the computer voice at the
end.

just want to say...i saw Placebo less than a year ago on
their US tour and I've never heard a better live band, real
sharp/angry sound. Brian must take some form of pill for his
voice before shows, because when he talked inbetween songs
his voice was EXTREMELY HIGH like a chipmunk, not like he
talks in interviews...he looked like a diva

What was the video they made for that track from Without you
I'm nothing? Actually, what was the name of that track?

I think it was Pure Morning, Fernz. Don't remember a damn
