Just got it.

Nothing new sounding, kind of like Mind Elevation without
vocals on the most part. Good non-the-less.

I have been dissapointed by the last few albums, I have
bought recently.

Stadium Arcadium : pah...
10,000 Days : a couple of alright tracks in between a lot of
mediocracy.

What's going on with new stuff now a days?

To add to the list of rubbish I now own.

Kate Bush: Ariel: v. poor perhaps if she had spent another
10 years on it, it would be better.

SOD Mezmarize: Why did the guitarist do so much of the
vocals.

I think the stand out albus that I have got are

Kill the Young
Artic Monkeys (I know that most of you will dissagree with
this one but it really riminds me of when I was 18)

the only good stuff i've heard coming out recently is that
detroit underground ep (#6) and stuff by underground irish
artists on leechrum records.. as for other musics, it's been
all irish stuff, especially the redneck manifesto and jape.

i've given up on the rest of them really.

I was thinking it was because I am getting old and out of
touch.
Can someone who is under 24 confirm this or not?

i was about to go on a rant about how aerial was really good
and that you WERE out of touch but then i realised ive not
listened to it since i bought it so it cant be that good.

theres hardly anything coming out at the moment that im
clamouring to get my hands on. i was looking forward to In A
Space... but feel its just too sparse. the last CD i bought
that i found genuinely fresh was Aoki Takamasa and Tujiko
Noriko - 28.

im just buying old stuff at the moment and filling up holes
in my collection.

also 010101 i dont think its cos youre old, im 22 and theres
people on my course at college (Creative Music Production)
as young as 17 who feel the same.

I would say there's a bit of a drought at the moment,
although that might just be my laziness justifying itself,
so I couldn't say. I just listen to a lot of older guitary
stuff at the moment.

New Mogwai album's good, that's my favourite new thing.

I tell you what, I'm enjoying podcasts at the moment, I've
discovered some pretty good stuff through those. The
brainwashed.com weekly ones are very good, though I don't
get the chance to listen to every week's.

It seems to me that artists I have loved in the past have
been bringing out really dull stuff. What's going on?

It's not like when you buy an album from the strength af a
single and the rest off it is crap. These are people who
have brought out increadable material in the past.

I'm waiting for everyone to say, "Do you remember 2006, we
could sell everything to people in that year"

Kate Bush: "I'm more mediocre than you."
RHCP: "No, our double album is far more bland than yours
Kate"
SOD: "We used our backing singer for most of the vocals on
ours, beat that and did you see how shit our artwork was?"
RHCP: "Wait a minuite System of a Down, your album looks
like it has had a bit of thought, even though it looks like
a backwards child drew all the pictures. Ours looks like a
bad copy of a latest "NOW that's what I call music" cover.

bah, 10,000 days was excellent... aerial, not so much. rhcp
i don't care about, not soad either... i liked their
self-titled one, though, but they started pursuing a
direction i didn't care for after that.

there's been quite a lot of interesting music out in '06,
especially if you'd just bother looking at some more obscure
artists and bands.

I cant wait til xltronic.com gets mature and drifts into the
mainstream, then we can see all the changes it has made.

I finally got around to giving 10,000 days a thorough listen
and I thought it was crap. Nothing can and will ever top
Lateralus, they dug their own respectable grave with that
one.
