has there ever been a decent topic on cars ever on
xltronic? i mean ok we have always been a rather music forum
but along my 3 years of membership i have seen about
everything...

...besides cars!

so - what do you drive, how do you like it and what car
would you want to have ??

current ride
actually the car of my mum. really - i hate it. it has a
really weak 1.2 engine. - i sometimes shit my pants when i
try to overreach other cars...

but okay it has wheels and it has a really low need for
fuel.

my dream car? i was always a fan of muscle cars like the
classic ford mustang or a dodge camaro. but i don't think
that i'll get one at these actual fuel prices in poland :|

a car that i probably will buy will be either a
audi A80 kombi (because i go windsurfing very often so i
need a big car and i'm rather a sports guy)

or an old vw transporter - that would actually depend if i
get some decent one.

cars are fun for doing burnouts and wheelspins in car parks
really late at night, and for filling the boot with amps and
subs and blasting out squarepusher. they are crap for
anything else though, e.g. driving

I drive a 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport.

This pic gives a good idea of what my truck looks
like. Although mine doesnt have the toolbox attachment in
the back and mine is black and not green.

I picked it up a couple of months ago as i cracked the block
in my 95 monte carlo.

I think when it comes to personal taste i like old school
muscle cars. The body style cant be touched. They should
figure out a way to rework those cars but make the internal
components more effective and efficient as opposed to the
poor gas milage alot of them get.

I do like the look of this charger

There was a time where i was thinking about picking up a
1971 AMX Javelin seen here. A buddy bought a big truck
and wanted to sell it for around $9,000 with a new engine
dropped in. I never got around to it though.

Maybe when i am a bit older and more responsible i will get
a classic as a second. Right now i am a truck guy myself. :)

i was pretty sad a few weeks ago. my '88 Toyota Corolla
that i had been driving for 10 years finally died. needed
probably $1200 or more to get it really running good again.
so i decided to let it go. i almost shed a tear when they
towed it away.

So long Old Red. You were a fine auto. We shared many good
times.

My car only my actual one is black.. only bought it
two weeks ago, by far the best car i've owned.

I've actually had a few cars in my first year of driving
until i've been happy with one. First car was a good old
Fiat Panda , then a brand new Daihatsu Sirion, then a Volvo
S40, Fiat Panda again, Peugeot 106 and now the Fiat Punto.

HAHA funny thread.

I'm not a car nut, however I do really enjoy driving my '85
Toyota Celica Supra. It took me a long time to find one
cheap enough for poor ol me. Why bother? Well, car design
reached its zenith in 82-85, that is a FACT. Need proof? One
word.. DELOREAN.

I had a Peugout 106 until some clown crashed into it whilst
it was parked, writing it off.

I had a 1.2 Corsa SXI (factory chav'd up version) for 2/3
months as a courtesy car whilst that was sorted.

I now have a new car every week (sometimes changed even more
regularly!) as work get me a hire car whenever I have to go
into the office. They're obviously fed up of me coming in on
my motorbike. :)

Consequently, I drive absolutely loads of different cars,
but never have the same one for more than a week. Last one I
had was a 1.8 petrol Honda Civic (just went back an hour
ago). Nice car; combination of very short wheelbase for good
handling, with "big car" engine, brakes and comfort. It's
still a bit "Honda" (soulless, bland/flat power delivery,
etc.) though and unless I could afford the R-type, I'd still
go for a Focus over it.

Once we see if I escape my driving ban (fingers crossed,
eh?) work'll probably sort me out with a company car. I'll
almost certainly have a 1.7TDI Astra (hatchback), but if I
can afford it, I might pay a bit extra and get a 1.8 petrol
Vectra instead. The Vectra isn't bad for a rep-mobile,
personally I prefer them to Mondeos. Not a "fun" car, but
good at motorway miles, which is what I'll be doing.

Dream cars? Attainable one would be a Focus ST. Even the
stock one would be great; I've more powerful cars, but even
the stock Focus is the most fun car I've ever driven. Ones
I'm much less likely to have include the Bentley Continetal
GT and an Ultima GTR.

Cars are good fun, particularly cornering, but even fast
ones feel like they accelerate slowly to me as I'm used to
motorbikes.

Mercedes is the king of cars.

Or queen, as it's a female name ?

I had an old one once, my first car. I still miss it. Looked
something like this :

you really have that? awesome car!

this is my ride.. saab 9-3 turbo.
i'd prefer the old saab 900 turbo cab from the 80's, but i
can't bother all the trouble that probably would come with
an old car like that.

Yeah those are great; I've had a play in the 2.2l Sports 9-3
and a 1.9 Estate version and they were both great cars. The
Estate was probably the most enjoyable "practical" car I've
driven (although the Focus C-max comes close).

i've had 2 close calls in the carr in the past 2 weeks.
firrst i was still pissed drriving to worrk and came upon a
rroundabout farr too fast and sent the carr sliding into the
currb. thankfully i'd slowed enough when it hit, orr it
wouldn't have been funny.
then i was too busy looking at rroad signs at a junction and
i came flying out strraight into the path of a carr on the
wrrong side of the rroad, i just managed to turrn enough to
get the carr wrrong-ways on my side of the rroad.
i don't know what's been wrrong with me lately.
