He rubs his head a lot, other than that it sounds like he
has fairly reasonable tastes. What a loser

You've posted the wrong link, this one just goes to a video
of Orbital saying something reasonable about Autechre and
Aphex Twin. Is there one where they rave about Phillie-T's
new video, then they'd look like arseholes?

i didn't get everything... i'm really not good at oral
english

does this mr. orbital say that he likes autechre and aphex
twin but finds autechre's latest stuff too harsh and too
much into their own "experimental" noisy stuff? i didn't get
what he said about aphex twin nor about spangle though...

They broke up, but they've both got solo careers. Not
exactly successful ones from what I've (not) seen though.

I don't know what "not exactly successful" means,
considering their split about 18 months ago. They've both
been working on new material, some of which I've heard and I
can tell sounds exciting.

On one side, Phil Hartnoll has teamed up with Nick Smith
under a new moniker Longrange, and the release of their
album is probably due next fall.

Here's something interesting (taken from
IrvineWelsh.com/NME):

"Ex-Orbital star Phil Hartnoll is to team up with cult
authors Chuck Palahnuik and Irvine Welsh for a performance
at the forthcoming Brighton Festival.

Along with Nick Smith, the unlikely group have combined
forces to form a new outfit, Longrange.

Hartnoll and Smith will be jamming improvised ideas and
storylines back and forth with the writers and guest VJs to
create Stories in Motion.

This one-off collaboration on takes place on May 7 at
Brighton Dome's Corn Exchange."

Paul Hartnoll, on the other hand, is working on new material
as well, and I would bet on a solo album within a year.

Orbital may be dead, but it's not the end of their career
just yet.

Ah, ok. I just hadn't heard that they had done anything big.
I know one of them did a remix of Jean-Michel Jarre's
"Aerology", but it's kinda crap compared to what Orbital did
together with the Kraftwerk "Expo2000" remix.
