Both the album title and the tracks are almost certainly
bollocks. They did the same with Lateralus. Hope it's good
though!

WTF? Tool-the new cartoon band? I guess it will be not as
good as Lateralus, and miles away from Ænima

I fucking can't wait for this album. All talk has said this
album will be their most heaviest venture to date.

I remember reading something where one of the band members
described their new music as a cross between their old sound
and meshuggah and fantomas.

the only thing that is 100% certain of the new tool album is
that it will sound like tool...

I don't even like tool very much.. but how the hell are they
'emo'? maybe the lyrics sometimes, but still.
it seems like, especially here, there's some annoying
backlash against against anything that expresses any strong
emotion through a means other than notes.
I guess it must be great to listen to idling engines and
ceiling fans because their sound doesn't convey any of pesky
boring 'emotion'.

Do the Ceiling Fans have a new record out? I heard they
were touring with Idle Engines, but that hasnt been
confirmed yet right?

I hope they do a split with the Whirring Toothbrushes some
time soon.

the last tool album doesn't even hold a candle to
meshuggah's last album. tool should have quit music in '96
or whenever that aenima record came out.

Rosetta Stoned, lolsauce

I'm looking forward to this album though. I bet the track
titles are legit, silly looking track listings usually end
up being correct. The promo shots are great!

I´m with you :) And Vicarious is a nifty name for a song.
Hope it's loud and more like the old stuff than Lateralus.
And 60 minutes is quite enough, imo.

I've never actually listened to much tool, aside from what
played on the radio while I was in middle/highschool, before
I started listening to nothing but cds/mp3s. Do they have an
electronica-style element to them or is it mostly dark,
adventurous rock-type stuff?

LAZY_cover

lustmord remixed both "schism" and "parabol" on each
seperate dvd, no video, not a seperate audio track for the
sterto, just 25ish minutes of remix on the dvd, nice.

I have to say, the new song does in fact grow on you. Its
quite excellent, though I feel the vocals / lyrics could be
a bit more realized.

I'm fucking counting down the days. I cant wait!

i don't know... this just sounds like tool to me. what's
the big deal?

- they've already done everything in this song before
- every nu metal band (all of which probably were inspired
by tool) has done this song before
- it's full of horrible cliches
- the one melodic hook in the song is extremely common and
has been done in many better songs.

i may have been interested if they had attempted something
new musically, but there's nothing to this. no boundaries
crossed, nothing at all challenging, just a mediocre tool
song.
