from what I've read, the earliest would be summer, but
probably sometime between summer and winter.

And I wouldn't get a first gen intel, I'd wait for at least
a second gen, to make sure everything is working as it
should. Why pay to be a beta tester?

If you're talking about an Intel version of the 12"
Powerbook, which I think you are as in 12" Macbook Pro),
then the 12" model has been dropped by Apple, meaning no 12"
for you :(

Is the MacBookPro 15,4" only? I have read that the MacBook
(former iBook) will be 13"

There is a 13" widescreen ibook/macbook (one screen size,
two specifications), while powerbook/macbook pro will get
the 15" and 17" models. no 12"

12" just hurts my eyes.

I got a 12" powerbook and I love it. I cant afford a new 15"
powerbook, so I reckon either an imac or new ibook is on my
hit list for the summer.

I would def stay away from these macs for a bit, any
program other than native apps will run slower as they have
to run on the rosetta system until adobe and the likes
convert their software to the new chips
