marlowe's theory

i have this theory, i have no idea if some other person has
stated it before me, but it is MINE MINE MINE!!

anyways, here it is -- as we know, humans exist and feel
within certain perameters of frequency -- the sound we hear
is approximately between 20 and 20,000kHZ, the colours we
see are located on a certain spectrum and so on... well i
have a theory that other beings inhabit the same spacetime
as we do, but on different frequencies! and i also think
that this MIGHT explain certain supernatural occurrences!

please don't burst my bubble by saying you heard all this on
star trek :|

Its not that new, but cool anyway. Its the same with music.
Imagine what dogs hear when we put on boards of canada.

There may be infra-red beings that we cannot see, but which
dogs react to (ever noticed how dogs sometimes growl
focusing on the middle of a room when there's nothing
there?).

There was a cool 2000 A.D. strip where there were these
creatures that could only exist at light speed and
disappeared when the ship slowed down!

Its a cool idea though. I wonder if one day we find them.
That would be really cool.

marlowe: thanks now how am I supose to sleep knowing theres
aliens with different frequencies in my room at night in the
dark all alone.
Now who´s in for a cool brainstorm I like this topics and
have a lot of theories too

Aliens with different frequencies so that we can't hear or
see them? Where would they live? Would we not bump into
their structures, even if we could not see them?
Hmmmmm......don't about that one matey! Sorry!

offline Vader from € Lisbon, PT on 2002-03-03 19:32 [#00110050]
Points: 1000 Status: Lurker

Yep I agree too that spacetime theory is all wrong, but
theres machines that can see infrared colours so if animals
see it we would see it too, by the way theres mechanisms
that work with high frequency that humans dont detect (only
animals do) there was this ghostbusters using then I saw on
Discovery Channel and they captured some weird balls of
light floating in a room who was supposed habited by ghosts
theres proves mate!

interesting idea marlowe..

but like jedi chris said: wouldn't their matter still bump
into ours?

not if it vibrated at such a frequency that transcends ours

hm.. u mean like the way certain particles (sorry, forgot
their names) pass right through our bodies/planet without us
noticing?
hm.. cool idea

yup you got it -- and imagine if somehow these beings
vibrations began slowing down and started to interreact with
"ouR" frequencies...could be some interesting developments

basic idea for my new one :) i had already written about
3,000 on my old comp but the harddrive died and i lost it -
so i am planning to start it again

A CD only has the frequency room between 20 to 20khz so a
dog will only hear what we hear.. Same with a vinyl (tho
some people say that a vinylplayer has a bigger frequency
room), check the specs. of your pickup, they usually cut by
20khz. Some of the expensive ones, like stanford or what
they are called cut by 16khz.. that sucks.

Heres one of my theories, fell free to critic:
I think think we (human race) are just an experiement made
by some advance race and they are visiting us just to
control and study the evolution of a inteligent animal race,
dont you think its too much perfect c´mon the extition of
dinosaurs, perfect heat and water, why cant we explain how
some of our old monuments were built it seems that we as a
race suffer from some amnesia how did we lost the ancient
wisdom?

Vader: A funny sci-fi style quote my dad used to say to me
when I was little was "Life on earth
is an experiment of beings from another world, the time has
come for the experiment to end..." It used to really creep
me out when I was little.

My theory was made from scratch its great to know that
others had built the same theory also and yes it creeps me
out even know i just think its too perfect too much
coincidence too much weird stuff happenig around.

isn't your theory rather like "2001: a space odyssey"/"the
sentinel"? plus, the books by zeceriah sitchin (great books)
studies the Sumerian culture, and says that we perhaps were
genetically modified from the pre-human bipeds to be farmers
and such. most interesting books

Nick Hancock investigates a similar theory in "Fingerprints
of the Gods". Most of the conclusions in the book are based
on his own generalizations and not fact, but it makes for an
interesting read.

marlowe> I've always had a feeling that if there ARE
different life-energies/forces apart from the physical
manifestations we know about on earth;
(deep breath) they would be WAY beyond our human
measurement and classification . Definately NOT carbon based
green men with big eyes (Rosewell). And if thats the case,
they ; or it ; could be among us now without us noticing.
The idea of physical matter on other frequencies is a bit
Doctor Who though, but still an interesting concept.

The whole thing reminds me of the late great Douglas Adams
writing about a Massed fleet of powerfully armed
interstellar warriors who travelled many light years across
the universe to wreak a vengeful annihilation of planet
earth, only to finally arrive hundreds of years later; and
due to a cataclysmic error of scale; be swallowed un-noticed
by a small dog :D

I've heard some religious theories (too complicated to
tackle here) that go along with some of this.

I don't buy into all of them, but they make for good topics.

VADAR> your experiment theory sounds like Adams "mice" idea
in the Hitch-hikers series. The earth being a computer
designed to formulate the answer to the meaning of
existence. At the whim of some mice; The real leaders of the
universe :D

oh, good luck both of you . I'm writing a story now and @
20,000 words or thereabouts. Its also about other hideous
lifeforms, the Bush family;D

there was a book where a Space craft was navigated by the
random movements that occured within Italian Restaurants.
The idea was related to chaos theory.

Anyone heard of the book? I don't remember the name or
author.

you can expand the frequency range of sound and the color
spectrum range by ingesting psilocybin. however, you might
even encounter these 'beings' Marlowe speaks of and they
might scare you shitless..

my theory is that our sensorial organs, brains and stuff
aren't perfect, and we can't get out of our bodies to check
if we quite perceive the reality the way it is — so
nothing absolutely prevent us from thinking that reality
doesn't exist, or is really different from what we think...
so maybe you don't exist and i am the only human being on
earth, whose loneliness makes him invent other beings like
him. for example. :)

think. (and maybe it's my theory after all, if i consider
that it is true :))

LoL, that's a nice thing to say reflex.

I think it might be true, but what I would wonder is, if we
can't perceive something, does it really exist in the way
that we think of matter existing? (i.e. tree falling in a
forest)

this hteory has been explored in the various haunted house
movies that have hit the US recently (not exactly sure), it
doesn't matter what movie did it exactly, but i know that
there are a few out there where the "heros" need these
special glasses to see these "alien/ghost" biengs to
vanquish tem for whatever reason.

god, i hated all those fucking haunted house movies...why
did they keep making them?! they didn't even do that well in
the BO.

meaning and present your true self to you -- and is time in
dreams longer then actual time? like when u dream and seems
for hours then only 1 minute passed on the clock.. this was
from the movie " waking life" its weird to ponder
