When I rip cds, I get this ticking in the background...? Anyone know why this is? It doesn't happen all of the time, but i know it is not the cds because it happens on some tracks and not other and on some albums and not others.

Have you tried a different ripper? I think it's something to do with "Digital Audio Extraction" but I can't remembr if that's the cause or the fix. Sorry.

I had this once with a Samsung dvd drive. Try listening to the CD's with the same drive and see if you get the same clicking. It's probably the drive being dirty/off alignment.

Ah thanks, I had this on my old comp, but forgot about it.
Kindof did these rips quickly, so I didn't search.

I agree with ToXikFB, use EAC. It lets you know if your CD's are bad and tells you exactly where they are scratched.
