When I rip cds, I get this ticking in the background...?
Anyone know why this is? It doesn't happen all of the time,
but i know it is not the cds because it happens on some
tracks and not other and on some albums and not others.

Umm, I used WMP...

Have you tried a different ripper?
I think it's something to do with "Digital Audio Extraction"
but I can't remembr if that's the cause or the fix. Sorry.

I had this once with a Samsung dvd drive. Try listening to
the CD's with the same drive and see if you get the same
clicking. It's probably the drive being dirty/off
alignment.

Ah thanks, I had this on my old comp, but forgot about it.

Kindof did these rips quickly, so I didn't search.

what you are asking....

I agree with ToXikFB, use EAC. It lets you know if your CD's
are bad and tells you exactly where they are scratched.
