Is having a few glasses every night and driving oneself to the point of vague drunkeness alcoholic? Do you find that it makes evenings that much more entertaining?

1.depends a) how drunk you're getting; i.e tipsy, smashed, or obliterated.
2. are you drinking on your own?

I like to get drunk, I have to finnish a bottle of wine, I sometimes wake up on the beach or in a seeweed brothel after a night on the sauce.
Does this make me alcoholic?

i drink about 3/4 drinks a day,as i spend most of my days in a pub. i should probably cut down, but i dont consider it to be problem drinking.

if you're asking, you're concerned. if you're concerned, that's a sign that you should evaluate your choice to drink every night.

After I crashed my car I was drinking 6+ cans a night, then finish with 1 or 2 'home' doubles for the past 4 months, but ive stopped completely last week - now im a weekend binge drinker. Once the responsibility of driving came back I stopped.
I did it soley to pass the time, now im saving a fair bit of money but still cant find something to pass the time, cd decks coming next week woo hoo

a few months ago i was with my mates at a pub, we were all quite pissed and discussing random subjects, the subject came up about being depressed, my friend mentioned that he turns to the bottle when he's feeling that way.
I for one don't see why this happens, why do people turn to the bottle?.. i've been through my fair share of being depressed, and i've never felt the need to get pissed.
I also, don't drink alcohol alone... I think i might if i found a nice alcohol i enjoyed drinking, but so far (not a heavy drinker) i've found no nice casual alcohol to drink alone.
actually, saying that there was this drink (which i can't remember because i was fucked) at a bar, it was just really strong coffee tasting... i loved that...

Could you stop drinking if you wanted to? If you answer "yes" you are an alcoholic.

i asked them NOT to give you any money this month cause you spend them on drugs and then you flood internet messageboards with your suicide threads.
