you can post them here randomly, whenever you think of one or whenever you see a film..it'd be much appreciated :)
i saw traffic again couple of days ago and i was laughing to my tears for surely 15 minutes. and the scene probably only took 30 seconds. it's that one where guzman (i find him to be one of the actors with best sense of humour) and cheadle are in a stake out in their van and they're observing someone at the beach. cheadle starts telling a story about how he lost his virginity on the beach when he was 16 or something, and guzman goes; yeah? cool..it was nice..did he treat you good? and then the next couple of shots where they show cheadle and guzman in that tight van are super hilarious..they don't say anything just give each other silly looks..makes me laugh even now when i think of the scene :D

And Spinal Taps´s scene where the guitar player shows his guitars and says something like "You are not allowed to even look this guitar".
Same movie, same guy. Tunning a violin while playin the guitar onstage.
All that movie is fun!

He goes arround sayin' that to every japanese he finds...

he's a genius.. try watching pulp fiction with the subtitles on - there's brilliant use of mise-èn-scene, with very relevent stuff playing on car radios as the camera passes them, or being shouted by random people on the street.
my favourite would have to be the first scene from fear & loathing.. pretty much every word is taken verbatim from the original book, and i think that's what makes it so funny.

now fear and loathing is one of the most hilarious films ever. saw it plenty of times and i'll definitelly watch it plenty more!
as for tarantino, he's alright, big portion depends on brilliant cast he always gets, but there's just way too much hype around him and that puts me off as there's lots of other just as brilliant directors if not better but people don't see that for some reason..

Jarmush would put me off once for similar "too much hype" reason. i still don't like his films. the ones i saw of course. oh, except "Ghost Dog" which is great.
Tarantino's films also have great soundtracks.

there is one great reggae track on Ghost Dog OST that i ripped from the film itself. the lyrics go "a lot of people won't get their supper tonight..." . can't recall the artist name right now. it's played very shortly in the film. a very short but memorable scene.

i actually bought that soundtrack, there are some nice songs on there. i bought tarantino's soundstracks too though :)
when it comes to these two i just find tarantion to be more pretentious as a person. beside that his style is to obvious, too forced or something. jarmusch on the other hand has a much better knowledge about film and film history imo. and well, i always prefered subtleness :)

there is something like jarmush subtlety vs tarantino brutality/bluntness, i agree. i don't know about him being pretentious, haven't seen him talking on tv or stuff :) he's appearances in pulp fiction or reservoir dogs were funny anyway.

i find the shining absolutely fucking hilarious.
example scene;;
when the kid walks in the lobby, bruised up a bit, the mum rushes to him and asks whats wrong ( not thats not the funny bit, keep reading ) and then the dads like 'what shall we do' and the mums saying 'maybe we should take him to a doctor' , then the next minute she's on the stairs backing up, the dad going fucking looney (which cracks me up) and she's swinging the baseball bat like a complete looser.
Also, the bit where johnny goes into the mens loo in the bar place, and sees the keeper of the house.. "i corrected them"
lol
fucking hilarious.

From Lock,Stock&Two Smoking Barrels:
As the boys walk in to Samoan Jo's, a man comes tearing out of the door
covered in flames followed by his friends trying to put the flames out.
The lads look on in mild shock.
TOM I heard this place was rough.
SAMOAN Jo's - NIGHT
SOAP What sort of a pub is this then?
SAMOAN JO A Samoan one. Anything else?
BACON (receiving a monstrous, leafy cocktail) What's that?
SAMOAN JO A cocktail, you asked for a cocktail.
BACON No, I asked you to give me a refreshing drink. I wasn't expecting a fucking rainforest; you could fall in love with an orang-utan in that.
SAMOAN JO You want a pint, go to the pub.
BACON I thought this was a pub.
SAMOAN JO It's a Samoan pub.
