Excelent idea. I follow up your Ziggy Stardust with Station
to Station, coke addled white funk, YEAH!

It’s not the side-effects of the cocaine
I’m thinking that it must be love
It’s too late - to be grateful
It’s too late - to be late again
It’s too late - to be hateful
The european cannon is here

I must be only one in a million
I won’t let the day pass without her
It’s too late - to be grateful
It’s too late - to be late again
It’s too late - to be hateful
The european cannon is here

That really is the only good cover I've ever heard of a
Bowie song.
And I include Nirvana's "Man who sold the world", and,
indeed Lulu's version.

fuck picture posting privilage.

Now she walks through her sunken dream
To the seat with the clearest view
And she's hooked to the silver screen
But the film is a saddening bore
For she's lived it ten times or more
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on
Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the Lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?

Can we have bit of the mighty Lodger. If you do ever
get it, try to get it with the two bonus tracks "I pray,
olé" and a reworking of "Look back in anger" - PHENOMENAL!
But best of all, of course, the opener, "Fantastic Voyage".

We're learning to live with somebody's depression
And I don't want to live with somebody's depression
We'll get by I suppose
But any sudden movement I've got to write it down
They wipe out an entire race and I've got to write it down
But I'm still getting educated but I've got to write it
down
And it won't be forgotten
'Cause I'll never say anything nice again, how can I?

jamesfranco asks: "Where do you see yourself in 10
years?"

David Bowie answers: Probably Manchester. Yeah, that's a
good bet. Probably Manchester. Ooooh, no! Somerset.
Um...

Making love with his ego
Ziggy sucked up into his mind
Like a leper messiah
When the kids had killed the man
We had to break up the band

Now Ziggy played guitar

I've been really enjoying "outside" lately.

I think it's the only '90s album that still holds up, that
doesn't sound dated.

times.

i have "Outside" and "Heathen".

i have difficulty expressing my feelings about "Outside"...
it's good but there's something/there are some things i'm
not sure i like. i'm not sure what exactly. i know the
"story" of the album, don't know if it's related... my last
listen of this album was some months ago, i'd have to give
it a spin again. 'Outside' (the title-track) is very good,
'The Heart's Filthy Lesson' too.

"Heathen" is really good, except 'Everyone Says Hi' which is
too happy/naive-sounding to my taste (despite the lyrics
which can be ambiguous) and 'A Better Future' which is far
too much of that (and also too
"radio-friendly"/predictable). if i skip this last one or
those two, it's a very solid album. especially tracks 5 to
8. '5:15 The Angels Are Gone' sounds a bit like Peter
Gabriel somehow (which isn't a bad thing to me).

some of history's best music was made great by one of two
things:

1. gay

2. heroin

while that is true for, as you say, some of historys
best music, the majority of historys best music was made by
sober heterosexual people.

Heathen is quite recent. I agree with you about that
"everyone says hi" track. it is easily my least favorite
bowie track ever.

I like the recent bowie stuff too but, of course, not as
much as his classics.

Baby, I've been
breaking glass
In your room again

(listen)

Don't look at the carpet,
I drew something awful on it

See

You're such a wonderful person
But you got problems oh-oh-oh-oh
I'll never touch you

.

Every chance, every chance that I take
I take it on the road
Those kilometers and the red lights
Never looking left or right
Oh, but I'm always crashing in the same car

Jasmine, I saw you creeping
As I pushed my foot down to the floor
Round and round the hotel garage
Must have been touching close to 94
Oh, but I'm always crashing in the same car

Yeah yeah yeah yeah

.

i think i agree about Outside. i couldn't stand Heathen and
EaRtHLinG has only single tracks that i like, it sounds like
a bag of of outtakes from Outside.

i need to check Black tie white noise.....and those Tin
Machine albums though i read some bad reviews.

and Reality is one of the best gifts i got.
