Ricky Gervais Podcast

Do you listen to the Ricky Gervais podcasts? Have I missed
the thread about this, indeed if there is one? You can hear
the last couple or so here LAZY_PODCASTS

In addition to discussing this hilarious show, I wondered if
I might add that I seemed to have mislaid episode 2, so I
wondered if anyone had it and, if so, can I have it? That'd
be great.

I listened to his radio show on the BBC and found it funny
but the music was really bad.

Yes, that's the thing, I got the first one, then promptly
forgot about it, then jumped back in and found I'd missed
the chance to get 2....

amazing. the strange, strange theories this Karl person
comes up with.

Giginger, not only the world's greatest label boss and sex
icon, but a fucking great guy!

It is hilarious show, seemingly so ... simple, but
absolutely compelling, you could listen to them babble on
indefinitely.

You haven't heard his interpretations of things.

Analogy: "It's a story told quick like innit!"

People in glass houses shouldn't stones: "Well it means,
like, if you're living in a glass house don't go chucking
stuff about because you'll break something. I suppose today
it means don't go knocking stuff about because of Plasma
tellies and that which can be fragile. It would be better if
it was People who live in glass houses have to answer the
door"

Haha! Exactly!

Just episode two would be ace, I do have the rest safely
tucked away.

I love the way Gervais says "You're talking shit".

feel a bit weird.

Yeah, if it's scripted then it's fucking perfection. If it's
not then I just want to "kick about" with Karl for a couple
of hours one day.

I'll e-mail the link. It'll be about 5 minutes sir.

I don't think it's scripted at all, I don't know, I thikn
they've said before on xFm that they'd never write down such
rubbish. I think they just let Karl go off on one and bounce
off of his round head, I think that's what makes it extra
funny, just being in the company of genuinely funny people
talking rubbish.

I LOVE these podcasts!

So much so, that I have in the past couple of weeks been
hounding down as much Gervais/Merchant/Pilkington material
as possible and want to share:

1 - The Xfm site has podcasts of 6 of the last shows they
did on the station a few months back LAZY_TITLE all of
which are pure gold and at least as good as the guardian
ones although not as good audio quality

2 - Also on Xfm site there are archives available in
streaming format of 3 seasons of earlier shows, 12 shows
each, so 36 shows. Its annoying, though, because each show
is split into segments and you have to click on each one
every 5 mins. I'm looking for a way of queuing them up but I
haven't got a clue

3 - There are 2 shows they did on Radio 2 on xmas eve and
new years eve. They are on UKNova although the sound is
pretty crappy, but still worth it. Also on UKNova there is a
huge torrent of every single gervais radio show ever
broadcast!!

Listened to an old one today, bloody hilarious - Karl
talking about how people who are good at chess are
instinctively good soldiers/commandos. Ricky and Steven
totally took over and started claiming that to solve murders
in country houses they recruit people trained in Cluedo and
to seek enemy spies they get people trained in Guess Who...
"has he got a moustache? Is it Bernard?"

Thanks I didn't know about these. Basically Gervais laughing
at an idiot to make himself feel clever... just up
dogbelch's street of course.

Very funny so far, the 'bumtubes' bit in episode 5 was a
LOL.

Any sharing would be much appreciated here giginger
