i think at this point (in my age, 23) it's better to come off as smooth and mature versus dirty and young. i've had my punk years, i've had my hiphop years, i am now ready to elevate to the levels of style presently noncomprehendable by youths.
plus, the hotter girls dress nicer, therefore you will have to in order to maintain conversation.

i can definatly relate to that. i've only actually started having an interest in cloths of my own in my 20s. i especially got really in to street bike jackets.
