Sony settlement :(

Bastards!

Do they seriously think $7.50 is worthy compensation if your
computer got fucked up because of their software? Why are
they even allowed to operate anymore. If a single person had
been caught doing the same thing that sony did, they would
be in jail!

I saw the thread title and imagined hi-tech settlers
establishing a corporate camp in a jungle clearing

I cried when my Coldplay cd ruined mine, but crying is the
reason I buy Coldplay cds.

I'm good. Busy, but good. Tonight was a much deserved
night out, although the latter part involved smoking a bit
of weed while listening to some Tiesto mix or something. I
made my excuses and left.

Next time theres a class action, someone post about it
before its ruled on. I still have fond memories of cashing
that 5 dollar check the Riaa sent me a couple of years ago.

I just bought a sony camcorder, now I can be the annoying

pals at the mall

i rarely just rip a CD straight anyway. i usually edit the
tracks straight off the disc in Audacity to get rid of any
silent bits etc. this also gets rid of all the anti-copying
bollox.

moral of the story, download music from big companies, buy
music from the small companies.

Serves you right for buying gash music. BIYC Records
wouldn't put this kind of malware on their releases, send
your $7.50 to them and invest in some proper tunes.

and if you're really desperate, I bet BIYC will
gladly send a zip with some kind of destructive virus at NO
extra cost AT ALL.

Yeah, if that's your thing, for the low-low price of $30,
you can commision a special "lucky dip bag" CD-R with 4
tracks picked at random from the BIYC back-catalogue and one
of the following:

W32.Mydoom
W32.Looksky.G@mm
W32.Loxbot.D
W32.Mytob.MX@mm
Trojan.Lodear.G
W32.Dasher.D
W32.Dinoxi.B
SymbOS.Cardtrp.J

I know none of those are as harmful as the Sony one, but we
are merely keen amateurs.

please do mention which OS you're running when
ordering the "lucky dip bag" cd-r.
