I'm a real dunce when it comes to computers. I've been
trying to install my iPod Shuffle, but I must be doing
something wrong. I've followed all the steps listed on the
installer CD, but I can't get to my iPod in iTunes - the
feature 'Update iPod' is unlit when I go to access it. Do I
need to charge the iPod for a certain amount of time before
I can put any music on it? If so, how long?

why the hell would you want an mp3 player that is
permenantly on 'shuffle'!?

Q. What if you have 10,000 songs loaded on it but, sitting
down next to an old granny on the train, you suddenly feel
like hearing Port Rhombus by Squarepusher? Do you just keep
clicking [>> Next] until it comes up?!

A. You should have bought a Creative Zen

A. Shuffle can be turned off, it's only 1 gig, and Granny
might like Squarepusher.

I think you can switch it off shuffle mode. Although there's
no screen. But at least you could have some sort of order.

you can turn off shuffle mode. do you have a mac or pc,
because for some reason, update ipod wont work on my mac.
you have to drag all the files onto the ipod shuffle
playlist.

meh, what's the point of buying an ipod Shuffle to
turn off the shuffle mode? And how will you memorise the
order of 10,000 songs?

Exaph: Granny is perfectly entilted to

mentally deficient?

Why don't you explain this to me then:

Why buy an Ipod Shuffle when you could buy another
type of mp3 player for the same price (or even cheaper if
you find one from one of those unheard of outer Mongolia
companies) with the same storage and with a SCREEN so you
could actually see what your doing on the thing and be able
to choose what song you want next, and a button to turn on
Shuffle just in case your in a "frankly my dear, I
don't give a damn"
mood anyway!? So fucking what if it
doesn't have "ipod" in from of it's name and is instead
called ND-452e. So Fucking What.

Just because its called shuffle doesnt mean you have to have
it on shuffle. Do you do everything your told? I bet your in
a lot of debt. Oh and you cant get 10,000 songs on 1gb, not
even on 30gb.

Well maybe you'd buy it because you like how it looks, the
weight, it does exactly what you want, it's the perfect
size.

Yes you can.

If you like punk then a lot of tracks of 2/3 minutes long.
You could fill it up.

If you encode at 192 and not 320 then you can fit more on.
It's really quite simple.

I prefer my 40 gig iPod. Whoever releases a good 100gb+ mp3
player gets my vote.

My mate likes it. He just chucks on the few albums he's
listening to now and shoves them on. He doesn't care about
choosing exactly what he wants. He's happy.

I personally wouldn't be happy.

Can I make 6?

No worries gigi.

When i purchased my new 30gb model i realised what a con the
Nano is, value-wise.

Even encoding at 192 would never ever get you anywhere near
10k songs on 1gb!!!
